I'm going to say drinking and writing.

Never at the same time though. Bartenders hate it when you take their pens.

I would define a hobby as something you enjoy doing in your spare time.

I guess the most well-known hobbies are stamp and coin collecting (I don't do either).

My hobbies/interest can be found in my profile, but to recap:

Reading
Seismology (study of earthquakes)
Meteorology
Geology
Health/medicine
Photography
Astronomy
History, especially the Old West and WWII
Bicycling
Hiking
U.S. muscle cars and '70s and earlier Cadillacs, Lincolns & Imperials
Playing sports... mainly at work... volleyball, soccer, basketball
Geography/maps/antique maps
'50s/early '60s music
TV, mainly old shows
Internet/computers
Halloween
'70s pinball machines; my favorite: "Wizard"

I probably forgot a few.

I do that, too! I started saving them sometime in 1980, with a few issues missed here and there. But I do have some from the 1970s, also. There is a store in Burbank called "Movieland." They sell old TV guides going back to the early '70s or late '60s.
I think the older ones are $5.00 each, and the '80s/'90s are $2.00 or $2.50 each.

I've been collecting them since 1983. I for some reason didn't start keeping the summer months until about 1995. I have one from 1976 and one from 1982. That store sounds reasonable. $5 for a tv guide from the 1970's is a pretty good price.

Yeah, $5.00 is fair. You should see their prices on those old movie magazines from the '40s, though. $15.00 to 30.00! They are rare, however.
Pretty much the only reason I'm still saving them today is because of the Simpsons. I want to have TV guide issues of all the first-run episodes of that show. I'll probably stop collecting this mag once that show ends its first-runs.
