Freddie Prinze was unique. There will never be any one else who could follow in his footsteps. Not only was he funny, he could sing, dance, act and he was so great to look at while he was doing all those things!!! That Latino spirit about him made him unforgetable. Of course Chico and the Man was a great show but I don't think it would have been as popular without Freddie.

If I remember correctly, Freddie guest-hosted the Tonight Show about the same number of times as the other most frequent guest host, Joan Rivers.

Yes and the speculation was that Freddie might have been in the running for Johnny's spot if he had been around, I mean, Johnny did have a special place for Freddie. As it is well known, Freddie was asked over onto the dias on his first appearance, something unheard of on the Tonight show.

TVShow analyst........ If you look closely.... Freddie would've taken Jay Leno's spot if he were still here with us and Jay has a soft spot for Fred Jr.....

Plus Jay started out as a Stand up comedian just like Freddie...
