Freaks and Geeks-definetly a cult show, and I'm not ashamed to say I'm so in that cult!

Sigh. I loved this show, I really wish it hadn't been cancelled. I remember a couple of years ago in Austin they showed a marathon of the show at the Alamo Drafthouse.

I think a couple of the actors from the main cast were there as well recurring characters. I remember stepping outside during one of the breaks and the guy that played the hippie guidance counselor struck up a conversation with my husband and I. I didn't realize who it was until "fans" started crowding around him, asking questions. Hubby and I politely moved to the side.
He also had somewhat of a recurring role on the Gilmore Girls as well.


I couldn't stay for the whole thing because they ran it for nineteen hours straight, showing every episode consecutively, but I stayed for several and it was well worth the admission.

Whoa! That sounds awesome! I wish I could have been there? Is the Alamo Drafthouse a bar?.....The only thing I've seen that's kind of in that category was the Seinfeld internet cafe, in my neighborhood. They played nothing but Sienfeld episodes all day and night.

And the hippie guy was cool. I remember him from Gilmore Girls as well. He gave the town Troubador some competition, and then later on opened up some kind of fruit stand or something, that made Taylor mad. Haha!....He came back every so often.

Yes! I didn't even realize he'd been of GG at the time, because I watch it in syndication. That's my one and only celeb story. I think he also married Luke's sister in the medieval-themed wedding.

The Alamo Drafthouse is a movie theatre, but it serves food, appetizers, beer, etc while you watch the movie. They seem to have a pretty good system worked out so that others aren't disturbed while you order and receive food during the movie. It's a really cool place--- but they don't usually show mainstream releases, mostly indie movies, documentaries, or old stuff like Reefer Madness.

ETA: Ironically enough, I forgot, I have met one other celeb which was Regina Taylor. She was in I'll Fly Away, which I spoke of in my London twins post. It was very brief, I was interning at a theatre company and she was directing. She was told it was my birthday and came over to wish me Happy Birthday. That was it. Oh, and I also handed her a phone book when she asked for one. Hee!

The dude didn't marry Luke`s sister though. That was another guy.....ABCFAMILY is showing the 3rd season right now, btw (if you want to watch those episodes to refresh for the last 2 seasons).

Thanks for the correction! I guess my memory was fuzzy.

I wished I got downtown (Austin) more often, because the Alamo Drafthouse is such a fun place to hang out.

I really liked season 3. I need to start watching it to brush up for the last two seasons.

I love the idea of a Seinfeld internet cafe!
