I didn't see this episode, but here's my take on it: Maybe they showed Ward with his PJ's top buttoned up to the neck and the top tucked into the bottom because a more haphazard look could have indicated that perhaps (dare I say?) Ward and June had just been intimate ? (Okay - you can slap me for even suggesting such a thing!

I agree w/ you. Ward was always well groomed. Even when he was relaxed on a Saturday or doing yard work.

I can remember in at least one episode, Ward coming to the bedroom door with his hair all mussed up---which is what you would expect after waking up.
