Don't post idiotic comments about other posters that YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT! It's that simple. PERIOD. Come on, Solomon. Are you a kindergarten student-or what?

We have photo radar here in Denver and I've actually gotten a ticket for speeding. I don't really think it is that big of a deal but I remember it was somewhat controversial when they first introduced it.

The way it works here, you do have to be going more than 10 mph over the speed limit (I was going 42 in a 30). They mail you the ticket, along with a picture of the driver of the car. You just have to pay the fine, mine was $40. You don't get any points off your license. I personally don't have a problem with it because I know I was speeding so it wasn't unfair that I got a ticket. It's better than being pulled over, getting a ticket that takes points off your license and having to go to traffic court to lower the points and/or fine. If you're obeying the law and not speeding, then you don't have anything to worry about. I believe if there is a discrepancy between the owner and the picture, then you can fight the ticket and they usually just dismiss it. Oh yeah, they are also required to put a sign out that warns you when photo radar is in use. The signs are definitely easy to miss but you can see them if you're paying attention

Intersesting. I know they are debating over freeway or red-light photo radar. Which means that a camera would be placed over an intersection. When a person would run a red-light (or an amber light changing to a red light), than their photo would be snapped. I'm all for that. Because there's too many idiots running red lights here in Montréal.

its a total cash-grab; i got one in Vancouver for doing 4 km/h over the speed limit (about 2-3 mph), i couldn't even recognize where the picture was taken, so i had no idea if i was speeding or not, and it cost me $225 plus points (the only speeding ticket i had gotten in over 10 years too!!).

red light cameras are a better idea because a much higher percentage of accidents happen in intersections, so they do a lot more to prevent accidents.

They have photo radar in British Columbia? Doesn't sound like a fair system. I guess if a system was set up like you would see in Colorado, it would make sense. I would prefer red-light photo radar here. Too many people ignore them here.

i dont think that they still have it - i know a lot of people were complaining about it before the last election, and no it can't be done fairly - i know someone that got 8 tickets from the same camera, and nearly lost her license because she never knew it was there, and you sometimes dont get the tickets in the mail for months
