(This might be worth its own movie or game show thread, but I'm too lazy)

I met him at a convention in NYC about 5 years ago. Nice guy.

I remember asking him if he had seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and he said that he "hated it" and "it completely ruined Dahl's vision."

And Dahl hated the 1971 version, could only imagine what he thought of Tim Burton's.

The key point about Paris Themman last night was it was just a regular episode. In fact, no mention of his Hollywood past ever came up. I didn't even know it was him till the show was over and other people started talking about it.

People also pointed out that his wife had been on previously and was a two time champion

It was called "Charlie and the chocolate factory" ! I had the book when I was a kid, I got it the Christmas after I saw the movie! It was adorable! I remember liking the movie but thinking it was very different! The book was a more quaint , sweet version from what I remember !

Yes, and there is a creepy vibe to the movie, partly due to Wilder's performance. I can understand Dahl not liking it, but I love the movie, and the book. Read the book as a kid, and its sequel Charlie And The Glass The Glass Elevator, then read them again with my daughter when she was younger.

Combining today's two most important events (Valerie's QVC appearances and National Potato Chip Day https://nationaldaycalendar.com/nati...-day-march-14/, she should sell these....

(I've already gone through her afternoon appearance. Just some cookware. A bit dull. Hopefully some better products tonight).

The VHS of Willie Wonka was in a box of tapes lying around here that I just came across recently (There was also Grease, Roger Rabbit, and Toy Story in there).

Nice. I still have a bunch of VHS, mainly ones that aren't available on DVD/Blu Ray, plus I like collecting the ones in clamshell cases or the big box ones.
