18 Bothers and Sisters episodes + 13 Off the Map episodes = 31. If they plan on still having Off the Map still Sundays at 10, they won't need more B&S. And they are not going to move it. It's fine on Sundays. The only holes they need fixing are Wednesdays at 10 and Thursdays at 8. They need to be patient on Tuesdays at 10, where nothing is doing great anyway. Fridays will be fine once they have a line-up airing with WWYD anchoring the night.

There are 35 weeks to a season. Why would they need more if they have 13 for Off the Map? There will already be like 3-4 weeks off in December.

Just like my post on 9/28:
So I have been told that on other sites people are saying ABC's final ratings for last night will go down .8 in 18-49 from the prelim due to NFL preempting in Minneapolis. It won't be that high. I think they are confused because ABC went down a lot once last year because BOTH teams were on ABC affiliates for the "Farve Bowl" on Monday, Oct. 5. That is 3 markets: Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Check out the numbers for yourself: Prelim numbers for October 5, 2009 (which factored in NFL in Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Minneapolis/St. Paul): ABC 15.74 million, 3.6/9 18-49 8:00pm DANCING WITH THE STARS 17.78 million and 4.0/10 18-49 10:00pm CASTLE (w/2 min DWTS) 11.64 million and a 3.0/7 18-49 FINALS Monday, October 5, 2009 ABC 9.2/14.1, 14.06, 3.1/7.5, 3.9/9.0 (PREEMPTED FOR MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON WBAY GREEN BAY, WISN MILWAUKEE, AND KSTP MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL) 8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 10.7/16, 16.35, 3.5/8, 4.5/10 10:02PM CASTLE 6.1/10, 9.23, 2.2/6, 2.8/7 ABC went down a lot because it was preempted not only in Minneapolis/St. Paul but in Green Bay & Milwaukee as well (and it was Farve's return to Green Bay). It won't be that high this time, like I said on 9/28: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...&postcount=113 ABC will likely go down from prelim 3.8 to 3.6. Not the half a point we saw on 10/5/09. |

I'm posting this a week in advance, so this news spreads fast. ABC is preempted in Nashville next week (10/18) for MNF simulcast. And that is not major! Proof from last year:
11/23/09 PRE-LIM ABC 15.88 million, 3.4/9 18-49 (PREEMPTED IN NASHVILLE FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL) 8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 20.49 million, 4.1/10 9:30PM FIND MY FAMILY 12.9 million, 2.9/7 10:00PM CASTLE 10.46 million, 2.7/7 FINALS ABC 10.1/15.7, 15.77, 3.4/8.8, 4.4/10.5 (PREEMPTED IN NASHVILLE FOR NFL MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL) 8:00PM DANCING WITH THE STARS 12.9/19, 20.41, 4.0/10, 5.5/13 9:30PM FIND MY FAMILY 8.3/13, 12.76, 2.9/7, 3.6/8 10:00PM CASTLE 6.6/11, 10.31, 2.7/7, 3.2/8 ABC remained at the same 18-49 rating and slight drops in total viewers. So expect that next week from prelim to finals when Nashville is preempted on ABC. And once again, this week the final drop from prelim will be a .2 or .3 at most overall. Heck last week for BOSTON, a bigger market than Minneapolis, ABC was only down .2 overall from the prelim numbers. I have been right on every week on this...trust me. |

ABC moving summer staple 'Wipeout' to winter
Competition series to get its first run during regular season By James HIbberd Oct 13, 2010, 07:00 AM ET ABC is moving its summer reality stable "Wipeout" to the big leagues, giving the Endemol USA-produced obstacle-course competition series its first run during the regular TV season. Beginning in January, "Wipeout" will return with a "winter wonderland"-themed course, complete with slippery ice and such new stunts as the Spanker Sleds, the Wipeout Ski Lift and the Polar Bear Run. The network has ordered eight episodes, which will be considered part of the show's recent fourth season. "Wipeout" averaged 9.2 million viewers and a 3.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic during its Tuesday run in the summer. The move gives ABC additional hole-plugging ammo during midseason. " 'Wipeout' is one of Endemol's most successful global hits, and it's exciting to see the brand expanding," Endemol USA chairman David Goldberg said. "I'm thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland." A little worried about this, I think one of the things that helps it do as well in Summer is because it's not on all year. I dont think AGT would do as well if it was on all year. The Bachelorette is lower in Summer than The Bachelor is in Winter. I have always applauded ABCs restraint because the obvious thing to do is run it during the season. Maybe just being used for Jan/Feb won't be too bad. I hope that doesnt mean there will be less eps in Summer

Thursdays at 8 in Jan/Feb? Winter Wipeout is 8 episodes. Regular summer episodes will have 16:
ABC ANNOUNCES WINTER “WIPEOUT” SET TO PREMIERE IN JANUARY The Big Balls are shivering in anticipation because this January, ABC’s “Wipeout” is back with a brand new “Winter Wonderland” course, complete with slippery ice, frosty snow and numerous avalanches of Wipeouts. Cold climate-loving contestants will bundle up as they compete on all-new stunts such as the Spanker Sleds, the Wipeout Ski Lift and the Polar Bear Run. So cozy up by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate, and join us for a winter edition that is sure to “Wipeout” your winter blues. This new winter series will be in addition to the summer series of season four, bringing the season episode order to 24 episodes. “’Wipeout’ is one of Endemol’s most successful global hits, and it’s exciting to see the brand expanding,” said David Goldberg, Chairman of Endemol USA. “I’m thrilled that fans of the summer version will now be able to get their fix of laughs and wipeouts set in a winter wonderland.” “Wipeout” is hosted by John Anderson (ESPN’s “SportsCenter,”), John Henson (E! Entertainment’s “Talk Soup”) and co-hosted by Jill Wagner. In Wipeout, 24 energetic, new contestants of all ages, shapes and sizes go head to head through four rounds of demanding but hilarious obstacle courses to win the title of “Wipeout Champion” and the $50,000 grand prize. In the end, only one contestant will be victorious, while everyone else will Wipeout! “Wipeout” executive producers are Matt Kunitz (“Fear Factor”) and Scott Larsen. Shye Sutherland, Kevin Wehrenberg, Trice Barto and J. Rupert Thompson are co-executive producers. The series is produced by Endemol USA. David Goldberg is the chairman of Endemol North America. |

I dont know why they just dont order 30 eps and have 22 for Summer. Even a 26 order would be better. They were producing 26 EM:HE and I'd assume thats way more complicated

With the way Tuesdays are shaking out, I feel they need some reality hit there (not sure which one). NOF was down again and I strongly believe in that show, but come December just adding V to the mix feels like it will just be another low rated night, even though it makes sense on paper.

Only options for Winter Wipeout are Thursdays at 8 and Tuesdays at 8. If Tuesdays at 8, they would have No Ordinary Family move to 9pm. If it's Thursdays at 8, then we know V isn't coming here and Secret Millionaire is airing in Nov/Dec. I'm fine with either move.
I agree about the episode total, but perhaps a few of those are two-hour specials (like the Blind Date one we had this summer) and they count as one episode. |

As announced last night, there will be an ABC News special on the Chilean miners tonight and Supernanny returns Nov. 5:
Wednesday, October 13, 2010 10:00PM A Special Edition of 20/20: Miracle at the Mine [The Whole Truth is preempted on this night.] Fridays, Effective Friday, November 5, 2010 8:00pm Supernanny (all-new season) Comments: This probably means Secret Millionaire is now Thursdays at 8 starting Nov. 4, but V still could air there, though it is more likely for Tuesdays once Dancing ends. |

Any chance ABC is replacing some of TWT promo with PP promos tonight? There seems to be a good promotable ep this week and the only promo it gets is at 9:55 on Thu. Hell they even promote B&S on Wed and no PP. They gave many slots to TWT this week when even if it was gonna air everyone knows its done come sweeps. The lack of promos for BWY and PP with the plethora of TWT promos makes me scratch my head.
