Default I cannot believe there is a Hello Larry Message Board...

Hello...

As I said in my subject line..."I cannot believe there is a Hello Larry Message Board...

Don't get me wrong...it is nice to see...

Unfortunately my memories of the show are a bit hazy now...I don't think I have seen one since it's original airings on NBC...but at the time I really enjoyed the show...

I remember the "crossover" with Diff'rent Strokes...

I remember being quite confused at seeing a new actress in the roll of "Diane"...heck I was a kid what did I know...LOL...but I remember the second Diane being cuter...

Even when the show was originally airing I had memories of McLean Stevenson in M*A*S*H...and for the most part it seemed he played the same type of role...unfortunately that type of role does not necessarily work well as a lead...it worked much better as a supporting role to charachters such as "Hawkeye & Trapper"...

Was Mclean Stevenson funny...YEP...but is he a lead...hhmmm...I am not sure about that...

But nevertheless I have happy childhood memories of this show...

By the way I have a "vague" memory of him playing a Priest in a sitcom...but I am not sure if that was before or after hello Larry...

And that's my two cents...

Take care...

Yes I agree-I'm surprised it had a board the fact that it was so short-lived. I don't think this show has ever been in syndication here in philadelhia.

Are the Hello Larry episodes good without the cast of Different Strokes? I have only seen the episodes when Hello Larry crossovered with Different Strokes. I still haven't seen the Thanksgiving crossover

I've seen 2 Hello Larry eps without the cast of DS and they were both quite funny, especially the first ever episode.

I remember watching most of the episodes when they originally aired - but those memories are pretty hazy - all i can think of is that I must have liked it, because I kept watching it...

Default I'm also amazed.....

...I also respectfully register my amazement at the existence of a "Hello Larry" ANYTHING, let alone a message board!
I hated 80's T.V. since it seemed to take away the fantasy element of 60's T.V., which I was and am still enjoying today. The starkness of overly lit sets captured on video tape with shrill audieunces cackling was the death knell for my interest in first run programming. It wasn't until the mid 90's that my interest resumed.
Having said all that, I was a big fan of "Nanny and the Proffesor", having seen it premeire after (?) the "Brady Bunch", and am about the same age as Kim Richards. I had a crush on her so, I browsed "Jump the Shark" looking at "Nanny", which lead me to "Larry", which lead me here ...
I haven't seen "Hello Larry" since it first aired, but remember not thinking Mclean Stevenson was very funny in it, and I loved his character on M.A.S.H.
I'd love to see one again, however. How does one go about rading online?
In any event, it was fun seeing this board. I'll check back in a few and see If it is still active.

That is the beauty of original runs. I have about five or four from "Hello Larry" and enjoyed the commercials as well. I also have one from the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" with some original commericals. One of them being a "colgate" commercial. It is funny how things changer over the years. Also the CBS "All in the Family" promo was pretty good.
