Default Dr. Sneha Ann Philp

I just saw her case for the first time last week and it was so sad. Felt terrible for her husband, it must be torture to not know whether or not she actually parished in 9/11 or was murdered (or abducted) the night before.

Has anyone seen any updates to her case. I don't like to be pessimistic, but this seems like one of those ones that will never be solved, unless someone can identify the person she was shopping with on the night of Sept. 10/01.

Default Second woman missing since 9/11

America's Most Wanted also did a segment on Dr. Philp and a second woman who disappeared on 9/11. I don't remember the other victim's name, but she was in one of the towers and was able to escape without injury. She called her family and said she was headed home and that was the last time anyone saw or heard from her. Did anyone else see this AMW segment? Both cases are sad and frustrating. You wonder if they will ever be solved.

I agree that is a very puzzling case. She probably did die in the WTC attacks, but I found an article about her. She has never been found (or identified).

Dr. Sneha Ann Philips removed from WTC victims list
By Arvind Padmanabhan

City officials have removed the names of three persons — Dr. Sneha Ann Philips, Kacinga Kabeya and Kapina Ngalula — from the list of victims who died in the World Trade Center attack on Sept. 11, 2001, The New York Times reported on Jan. 23.

The office of Ellen Borakove, director of Public Information at the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, told Desi Talk that Philips had been listed as an Indian in their records.

Philips, a 31-year-old doctor who lived near the World Trade Center, was last seen on the day before the attack at a department store across from the twin towers, The Times report said, quoting her mother, Ansu Philips.

As Sneha was missing since the day before the attack and her husband was concerned that she did not return home that day, her family has been unable to prove to city officials that she died in the attack, the report said. But her mother believes that was not the case and was quoted as saying that her name should be on the list.

No offense, but don't be a pessimistic girlie man!

The case is only three years old, so there is a good chance that it will eventually be solved. If anything, it's not likely to be solved today or tomorrow. But I am confident that one day we will have the answer to what became of Sneha.

I "thought" I watched the coverage pretty thoroughly but can anyone tell me roughly how many people OUTSIDE the towers were killed? I guess I was just under the impression that everyone outside (tho injured), escaped. Sometimes I think that if they can discover who the girl with the DR. in the store video is they can solver her disappearance.

It's a generic answer, but all we really know for sure is that there were nearly 3,000 overall people who were killed by the 9/11 attacks. It could be very well that some died after escaping the towers. In any case, the way I see it, there was just so much confusion and panic going on in NYC during the attacks that I doubt very much anyone (except God) would have the answer to your question.

All of these years later, we still don't have an answer to this one.

Along with George Owens, this is the case fascinates me the most. I honestly don't think her husband had anything to do with her disappearance. And touching as it is that he'd like her to be remembered as a 9/11 hero, I don't think she perished during the attacks. My simple theory is that she ran into a rather unsavoury character during one of her late night excursions to the seedy bars that she frequented, and before she knew what hit her, her various body parts had been weighted down and dumped into the Hudson, mere hours before the first plane hit the north tower. Yeah, it's a rather extraordinary coincidence that her murder coincided with the biggest ever attack on American soil, but life is stranger than fiction.

I think some bad guy walked into an incredible stroke of dumb luck in choosing to murder Sneha, the night before the attacks.

They have video footage of her shopping that store near the twin towers , with an unknown woman. You think someone would recognize her companion.

Uh huh. That's another perplexing piece of the puzzle that has yet to be added. And where did the shopping disappear to?

It was a rhetorical question, I just wanted to bring it to the forefront of the discussion and not have it be forgotten.

Thanks though.
