Jeannie's ability to "change Time" as it was called at the end of that 1st season episode, seemed to be used often later on, without it being written into the scripts. For example, why does Dr. Bellows not remember all the times he has met Jeannie in the past each time she is re-introduced to him? (First time was in the first season Too Many Tony's, though it may have occurred in GI Jeannie and The Yacht Murder Case, though we cannot be sure of these last two; in I'll Never Forget What's Her Name she is talked about to Dr. Bellows, but not introduced; she and the Dr. chatted over lunch in A Secretary is Not a Toy; you would think he would have recognized her by now in the episodes Who Are You Calling a Genie? .. My Son, the Genie .. Jeannie Goes to Honolulu .. The Battle of Waikiki .. especially so in Divorce, Jeannie Style .. Operation: First Couple on the Moon .. How to Marry an Astronaut .. Dr. Bellows Goes Sane .. The Case of My Vanishing Master, Pt.2 .. Ride'em Astronaut .. Is There A Doctor In the House [Jeannie's mother looks almost exactly like Jeannie, so there is some recognition there...] .. The Biggest Star In Hollywood [she even gets her photograph in the paper with Tony this time!] .. The Case of the Porcelain Puppy [at the end when she plays the dog's owner and looking not so old even though she has blinked herself to be a 'old' woman] .. Nobody Loves A Fat Astronaut)
So, you see, Jeannie _must_ have used her ability to change reality so that everyone that did not normally know about her still did not with a simple blink of her lovely eyes : )
There were also plenty of episodes that did not end with a good resolving of the 'conflict' presented in the episode, so you have to wonder if it was either wished of her to change time and erase the bad events, or if she did that on her own.
