I agree with you -- just because she had a contract dispute doesn't necessarily make her a bad person. I do think she and her husband made some mistakes during her contract negotiations, such as trying to negotiate in the middle of production and making inflammatory comments to the press. She told her fans, through interviews, to stop watching the show, threatening the livelihood of the cast and crew. The producers certainly weren't innocent, either, and seemed to delight in making an example of her (those "phone call" cameos, for instance).

As far as letting her back goes, I honestly don't believe they could have. There was simply so much bad blood between her and the producers, and her and her co-stars, where they could no longer work together. CAKOOD confirms this. BTW, I've worked at jobs where there were disputes between the boss and certain employees, and the employee ended up having to leave, for the good of everyone, because there was no way they could work together again. This is not uncommon, and happens in showbiz, too.
