...Chris Hayward got his start writing for the second series of "CRUSADER RABBIT" cartoons produced by Shull Bonsall's "Capitol Enterprises/Creston Studios/TV Spots" in 1957 (the color episodes that were NOT produced by Jay Ward, as some obituaries seem to list in error). He briefly wrote material for Hanna-Barbera in 1958, and quickly found refuge with Jay Ward and Bill Scott, where he flourished for over four years [ending his tenure with "FRACTURED FLICKERS"]. He found a partner in fellow Ward writer Allan Burns, and together, they wrote for other series, creating "THE MUNSTERS", writing the original 1965 pilot script for "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS SHOW" (rewritten by and credited solely to producer Alex Gottlieb), writing and proudcing "GET SMART" and "BARNEY MILLER"...."and a host of others". A very sharp satirist, indeed!
