He should have told Lumpy that too. That way when Eddie would try to enlist him to help him do some spying/intel on Wally, Lumpy could steer him away from it somehow. Of course, "somehow" would be a wild card because who knows what's going through Lumpy's head at any given time, except perhaps a light breeze.
