I do agree that
The Parent 'Hood wasn't really that great of a show to begin with (it was basically, a really poor man's attempt at doing
The Cosby Show for the '90s). I think when T.K. came in,
The Parent 'Hood turned into a lightweight, more "Afterschool Special" version of
Roc. The problem I have w/ a guy like Robert Townsend (and this is most evident in stuff like
The Meteor Man, which he did post his partnership w/ Keenan Ivory Wayans), is that he his so caught up in wanting to deliver his skewed view of wisdom (Townsend was pretty much the Tyler Perry of the late '80s early '90s), that it completely gets in the way of creating otherwise solid entertainment.
