I believe the woman who used to do the voiceovers for "Lifetime" was their standard voice over actor who did the voice overs for all their programming and commercials (not sure if she still does). It was speculated that "Lifetime" replaced Dark's voice with that of their own actor because they wanted to gear the show more towards a female audience.
I think it's far more likely that they just didn't want to pay Danny Dark royalties. Same deal with why they never bothered to buy out the Burr/Malden episodes.
