You're actually confusing two different characters. The neighbor kid who lived across the street from the Cleavers in season 1 was Bengie (Joey Scott). The neighbor kid who lived across the street from the Cleavers after they moved was Chuckie (Rory Stevens). The characters do have similar names and the actors who portrayed them look similar so it's easy to confuse them as being the same character. I've made that same mistake myself in the past.
