Interesting interview Janice. Each morning I wake up and thank my lucky stars that I'm healthy & that I trust my G.P. But some of his staff...oy vey. I've decided that from now on when I have any kind of bad experience with them I'm going to email him and let him know why it was bad. And yes God forbid if I were hospitalized I'd strongly consider taking Evan Handler's tack too.

Yes Rich, you have to be your own advocate, or have a loved one do it for you. I learned this when my parents were very ill. I get chills just thinking what would have happened to them had I not been a constant daily presence. Towards the end of my mother's life, I walked in the nursing home, and she was nodding off because of the morphine. In front of her was a food tray stand with lunch. My mother was holding (sort of) a spoon over hot soup. So many of the healthcare workers become desensitized and simply don't care. There were some real angels there though. I remember them very well.
