Thanks to FactsFans new fic, I have gotten myself into the spirit of writing fanfiction agian. It has been a while since I've written anything other than English papers. I have been tossing arround the idea for this fic for a week or so now. Needless to say I have started writing it and am now ready to start posting. The Idea is a little different than most other fics on this board, It's a cross over between FOL and The Fast and the Furious, strange i know. But I think I can make it work, just bear with me while I get it rollin' *no pun intended*. PS: Feel free to give me suggestions/and/or corrections expecially on my grammer, my english teacher seems to think it sucks so let me know, lol. Well here it goes

Life in the Fast Lane

[Background Information: Here’s what you need to know before reading this fic. First of all I’m trying a new idea; Facts of life crossed with The Fast and the Furious/The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift. I haven’t written a crossover before so we’ll have to see how it goes. The story takes place during present time in Los Angeles. For those of you who have not seen the first Fast and the Furious Movie, you may be a little lost at some points, but it is not necessary to read the movie understand the fan fic. And it is most certainly not necessary to have seen Tokyo Drift, only one character from that movie will be used in this fic, and little from Tokyo Drift will actually be mentioned]

Chapter 1: Walking on Sunshine
Jamie’s POV
‘I’m so glad to be home, it’s the weekend and there’s no homework, life is good.’ I think to myself as I pull into my parents’ driveway in my blue 1969 Pontiac GTO(like the one Vin Diesel has in XXX). Climbing out of the vehicle and locking it I notice mom’s bike in the driveway. ‘Hmm that’s strange, wonder why moms home?’ I continue my short trek to the front door and enter the house. ‘Mom?’ I call out in the silence.
“Kitchen” She responds
I head to the kitchen to find my mom sitting at the table nursing a beer. “Can I have some?” I ask with little hope of actually getting my desire.
“In you dreams kiddo.” She responds.
“No harm in asking.” I kid, “Why are you home so early, I thought you were getting off at 6 tonight?”
“Well I was, but Sergeant Tanner gave me and Katherine a new assignment this morning, and we’re gonna be on stakeout tonight, so he sent us home early to get some rest.”
“Oh, that’s cool I guess.” I say as I walk over to the fridge to look for something to snack on. “When are you going grocery shopping? There’s nothing to eat around here.”
“There’s plenty to eat, your just being picky and don’t want any of it.” She comments
“Yea, I guess so.” I abandon my journey through the fridge after coming across what looked to be 3 week old mac’ and cheese. ‘Guess I’ll just have to con dad into ordering pizza tonight’ I think to myself and shut the refrigerator door. “Well I’m just going to go work on my homework, what time do you leave?”
“Probably around 9, I should be back early tomorrow morning.” She then adds “What do you want for dinner? I was thinking about re-heating some of the leftovers in the fridge.”
I show her my disgusted face and say, “yea like that green mac’n’cheese you’ve got in there, no thanks mom.”
“Is it really green? I’m sorry, I guess I just haven’t paid any attention to what’s in the refrigerator lately, I’ve been so busy with work and all.” She looks disappointedly at the table in front of her, as if she’s criticizing herself
“Don’t worry about it mom, this just gives us an excuse to order pizza!” I add enthusiastically.
“Yea, I guess so” she says less than enthused
“I thought you loved pizza, I mean you love making grandmas pizza?” I comment
“I do love pizza, it’s just that it is so unhealthy for you and we’ve been ordering out so often lately, it’s just not good for a person to eat so much of it.”
“Well I’m going to call your dad and see when he’s going to get home, and we’ll order the pizza when he’s on his way home from the recording studio.”
Mom walks over to the phone and presses 2 on the speed dial

Jo and Rick Phone Conversation
“Hello?” Rick answers the phone
“Hey Hun, how’s work?”
“It’s going well, we just signed a new record deal today, the guys and I think this new album will be a hit! Speaking of work, why aren’t you there now?”
“I’m on stakeout tonight at 9; Sgt. Tanner sent me and Katherine home to get some rest before tonight.” Jo responds
“Oh, well that makes since.” Rick says nonchalantly
“Yea, well anyways, I wanted to know what time you think you’ll be getting off work tonight, so I can order dinner.”
“What do you mean order, don’t we have those leftovers in the fridge?” Rick questions her.
“Well, as Jamie pointed out, they seem to be a little old. The mac’n’cheese is apparently a rather bright shade of green.” She continues “So, we’re ordering pizza, tomorrow I’ll drop by the grocery store on the way home from work and ‘restock’ on real food.”
“That’s fine, but I won’t be home for dinner, we got a last minute gig tonight at the club, it could run pretty late, I’m not sure when I’ll be home. Hopefully it’ll be before midnight, but I can’t make any guarantees.”
“Don’t worry about it Rick, Jamie and I will just order the pizza for us then.”
“Ok, do you think Jamie will be all right at home while we’re gone?” He asks
“Of course she will be Rick, she’s s17! She’s responsible and nearly an adult, I’m sure she’ll be just fine, besides this isn’t the first time we’ve left her alone.” Jo reassures him
“I guess I’m just being an overprotective father”
“Yea, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.”
“Thanks, well I’ve got to go practice some more with the band, I’ll see you in the morning, I love you.”
”I love you too Rick, Have a good time tonight, just not too good of time.” She says in typical Jo fashion.
“I will bye”
They Hang up.
