Bunny and Vince were more realistic.
The ep where Bunny was steamed at Vince because he was late to pick her up for their dinner date --I can't recall where or what he was doing with Gomer, but I recalled for years, Bunny angry at Vince: "I'm starving, Vince! .. I'm wilting in this heat!..." and Vince replying "You could wrap cold towels around your wrists." SLAM!
She hung up. At the time, I was pre-tween, and thought that women ought to be sweet and nice to their men ( though Louanne took it to the extreme opposite!
), and had worried that Bunny was doing the wrong thing --"be understanding," I had thought.
Years later, I suffered the same thing --starving while waiting for a man to show up --several different men! I'd not get dressed until they arrived so I wouldn't sweat my clothes. I learned to eat a little in advance, so I wouldn't be so angry at being hungry, and so I wouldn't view HIM as my only source of food, therefore either angry or too grateful.
