She Misses Him
A Division Fan Fiction
Jinny, Magda, and Kate are the only people at the station, it’s about ten at night and those three are working a double shift.
Jinny puts her head on her desk and sighs, “This is going to be a LONG night.”
Just then John walks in the door, he was worried, “Jin, can I talk to you, now?”
“Why?”
“Just talk to me in the hall.”
“Fine.” When the two of them get in the hall John just looks at Jinny, “So what do you need to tell me?”
“Jin, dad had a…” John pauses and gulps, “well dad had a stroke, they don’t know if he’s going to make it.”
“WHAT?” Jinny yells she looks at John hoping this was a sick practical joke, knowing it wasn’t she looked at him with tears forming in her eyes. “Listen I need to work. So if you could just call me if there’s any news…”
“Yeah sure Jin.” John starts to walk away.
“Wait, how’s Casey?”
“Well he’s not taking the news so well.”
Jinny just shakes her head, fighting back tears and goes back to her desk.
“Jin, what did John want?” Magda asked her. She could tell that something was wrong.
“Nothing Mag, nothing.”
“Whatever.” Magda said, she knew something was up with her best friend; she just didn’t want to push her, “You know if you need to talk I’m always here.”
“Yeah, I know Mag,” Jinny said. She really wanted to tell her what was up, “Mag what would you do if you were told one of you family members had a stroke?”
“Why?”
“Just answer.”
“I would probably freak out. Now why?”
“Mag, my dad had a stroke. That’s why John needed to talk to me.” Jinny told her, she was fighting back tears.
“Oh Jinny, I’m so sorry.” Magda looked at her. She knew that Jin wanted to cry.
Kate walked out of her office and noticed Magda was looking at Jinny with sympathy on her face. She also noticed Jin was about to cry.
“Magda can I talk to you in my office.”
“Yeah.” Magda got up and went in Kate’s office.
“Magda what’s up with Jinny, she’s about to cry, and you look as if you know what’s wrong.”
“Jin’s dad had a stroke, John just told her.”
“Oh my. I know about what that would feel like, my mom had a stroke and she has Alzheimer’s. She has to be scared and upset. Plus her dad and brothers are all she really has left right now.”
“Yeah.” Magda looked at her with a ‘what do I do to help her’ look.
