Disney Rebooting Inspector Gadget With Will Ferrell?

After two live-action movies based on Inspector Gadget were released over two decades ago, Disney will be taking another crack at the iconic franchise with another reboot in the works. A casting update has just been revealed about the long-gestating project, with a comedy star reportedly eyed to be the next actor to take on the mantle.

According to a new report by movie scooper Daniel Richtman, Will Ferrell (Saturday Night Live, Step Brothers) is in talks to play Inspector Gadget in an all-new feature film. It's also claimed that Sean Anders (Daddy's Home) is attached to direct the reboot. Notably, Ferrell has not officially signed on to the project at this time, and the report has not been officially confirmed by Disney.
