Hi.I have a quick question. Why doesn't tvLand ever show the "Dr.Gilligan/Mr.Hyde" episode. It's been so long since I've seen it that I wasn't sure it existed until I saw a post about it on this board!

View Full Version : Dr Gilligan/Mr.Hyde DumbassDiva 02-18-2004, 08:36 PM Hi.I have a quick question. Why doesn't tvLand ever show the "Dr.Gilligan/Mr.Hyde" episode. It's been so long since I've seen it that I wasn't sure it existed until I saw a post about it on this board! JWood201 02-19-2004, 12:09 AM TV Land has shown that episode many times in it's rotation. Maybe ya just missed it when it came around? Unfortunately, GI isn't on TVL any more, but, believe me, they showed it. A lot. lol. Gilligan Jillian 02-21-2004, 12:42 PM What I don't get is why they rarely showed the Christmas episode, "Birds Gotta Fly, Fish Gotta Talk", and also, why they never showed "It's a Bird, it's a Plane, it's Gilligan". DumbassDiva 02-21-2004, 12:53 PM Try to catch TvLand a weekend or two before Xmas. They do this thing where they play all the Xmas episodes from various shows, and they actually did show the Christmas episode (I taped it for my collection :) ). Which one is "It's A Bird, etc."? Is that the one with the jetpack? Gilligan Jillian 02-21-2004, 09:46 PM Ya, it is the jet-pack one. No networks play that one(at least where I live) so I haven't seen it in, like, 10 years, maybe. I don't even remember any of it. I asked TV Land why they never showed it, and never got an answer. I'm hoping Hallmark will show it. About the Christmas one, what gets me is that they show Christmas episodes of all the other shows year 'round, but when they had Gilligan it was only at Christmastime. Gahh! It drove me nuts, but, as my mom would say, I was already.:p ;) DumbassDiva 02-22-2004, 11:38 AM I'm lucky in that a) with the exception of "Dr Gilligan/Mr Hyde",I have the entire run taped (along with 800+ tapes,no lie, worth of old show reruns;a little obsessive, huh?) and b) our cable package comes with an onscreen program guide, which gives me a brief synopsis of each episode that airs,a week in advance. So far as I've heard,GI isn't on TvLand or Nick anymore (Haven't checked in a while.) But,I'll keep my eye out on the guide for both, and I'll post a reply if I see either one coming up. :lookaroun JWood201 02-22-2004, 05:35 PM I've seen every episode run on TV Land. I doubt it's a local thing that they just "skipped" them in your area. Like I said, maybe you just missed them by accident? I've done that a lot. As of right now, neither TV Land nor Nick @ Nite have GI. The only network showing it is Hallmark. Which is very unfortunate. I guess the Season 1 DVD'll have to sustain me for a while. I definitely need the other two seasons... Gilligan Jillian 03-04-2004, 10:43 PM All I know is that when TV Land had it, I checked the schedules and watched for it and it was always skipped-I kept a close watch so as to not miss it. ficlopri 03-04-2004, 10:53 PM Gillian, I saw it when it was on TV Land. It was a rarely run ep but they did run it. I loved the whole ep. |
