I've been reading this message board for the past month. The board is very interesting and I've seen a few disagreements as well. Nancy McKeon is a good actress and I admire her work. But let's not forget Kim Fields. I know this board is specifically for Nancy fans but she wasn't the only actress on the show. Each girl contributed her 100 percent to the show. I have to admit Kim has always been my favortie but I respect the other girls. Let's not forget Kim is talented in front of the camera and behind the camera. I also understand she is winning rave reviews in the play The Vagina Monologues in Chicago. So, Kim is doing some great work. The Reunion will not be the same without Kim, Nancy, Lisa or Mindy. It seems like everyone is concerned about Nancy not appearing, but could care less if doesn't appear. To me that is not right to say mean things about Tootie because it is geared towards the actress herself. Come on guys, could you be a little nicer. I'm just a guest but I thought I would write my opinion. I hope that both Nancy and Kim change their minds and appear in the Reunion movie. If not, we have to respect both their wishes.

That is exactly true. Some of the statements made by this Nancy fans are downright rude and cold! And I wasnt gonna say this but I feel it does stem down to racism, but thats thier own deal.

I'm glad to see that there are some Kim Fields fans out there. I don't have anything againist Nancy McKeon. She's a great actress but from the messages on this board you would think she's the only living actress. In my opinion, The Facts of Life would not have been the same without all 4: Kim, Nancy, Mindy and Lisa. In addition, the Reunion will not be the same if all the actors don't appear including Nancy, Kim, Lisa and Mindy. I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at the same time don't say mean things about the other characters. You never know the actors from the show might read these boards and no one deserves hurt feelings. Besides, this is the Facts of Life Message Board. It's not just for Nancy McKeon postings.

Hey! I'm a kim fan 100%!! I love her work and i know what it's like to be the baby of things.. it sucks!!! I posted more about my feelings towards kim in another post topic... but for now i just have to say that Kim Fields Rocks! and i don't understand why it's all about JO, JO, JO (did i just pull a jan brady or what?) and I'm quite frankly sick of it... this is the FACTS OF LIFE message board... NOT The Nancy McKeon message baord...!!!!

Usually I don't take offense, but I think you're right tootieismyfav. It's one thing when mysterious visitors come to this board to stir up trouble, but it's another thing when our very own members want to start trouble. And whether it's intended or not, I have seen indications of racism here (it's true). I have seen ppl on this board put down Kim's braids. In case some ppl are not aware of this, to some ppl that is a part of African-American culture. While I myself am not African-American, I still take offense (with a very good reason). I don't think I'll be sticking around this negative environment anymore (there are more pleasant message boards at Sitcoms Online...)

First of all, I agree that a lot of Nancy-fans here were being rather rude and impolite. However please do not say that "Nancy's fans need to stop....".

NOT ALL OF US were being like that. PLease be clear on that. I don't like being generalized. There were a few, I'll admit. However to say that NMK fans, in general, are pushing people around...you're only going to make more enemies.

A lot of people, myself included, are fans of BOTH actessses.

Long story made short...in order to avoid confrontations, please do NOT generalize. Mentioning names of particular "troublemakers" or saying "SOME Nancy fans" is a lot better than generalizing.

I've made it a point to not get involved in any of these message board disputes, but I was offended by the implication that some of us Nancy fans like her better than Kim because Kim is African American. While there are racist people in the world, how can you come to the conclusion that a disagreement about two different actresses of different races is due to racism? Why does everything have to come down to race? And when that comment about the braids was made, I'm sure it was that the person just didn't have a taste for that style. If someone were to say something negative about Nancy's hair, you wouldn't see people saying that it's because Nancy is white. That's a double standard folks. *Some* people (of all races) seem to use race as an excuse for what they feel is unfair treatment. This race explanation is startling to me, and while I can only speak for myself, I only hope that no one on the board is actually racist.

You know, on second though, I'm not gonna take a little vacation from the board UNTIL it gets this war over with.

I think some of the bashing is coming from jealously. Besides Nancy Mckeon Kim is the most popular and visible actress of the main cast. And they find Kim to be a threat.

Why can't i edit my posts? That really sucks.
