1.Rerun's Weight: His weight generated funny lines from other characters like Dee and Shirley. And some females.

2. His outfit-that hat-need i say more?

3. His dancing-the fact that he was able to move the way he did for his size made his dancing extremely entertaining.

Same thing with Shirley

1.Weight-generated funny lines from Rerun

2. Her Jackson Five Afro

3. The way she treated customers

All valid points, but it doesn't work without the straight man- and Roger ( Ernest Thomas) was a great straight man.

You can can get rid of Dwayne, Dee, and Momma, but not Roger.

Even though Raj was the straight man, he could be as funny as anybody. Case in point, when he tried to distract the bootlegger from leaving Rob's place before the police and the Doobies could get there.

I thought Raj was very funny.
Though he was not necessarily used as the butt of the joke,
he did a get a good share of comedic setups.

And Raj grovelling was always funny, when he was trying to come clean about what he had done.

Plus his dancing was hysterical.
