Okay, we all know that Nancy McKeon does
not want to be in the Facts of Life
Reunion. Besides "The Division" what else is stopping her from doing the reunion?

Please, let's not even go there again.

There really isn't a definite reason, nor is there a definite reason as to why Kim doesn't want to participate. Let's just respect their decisions.

People only think of her as JO and that's not what she wants, she wants people to think of her in other parts that she done, plus the director s and other film people will only think she is capable of doin' the tomboy acting scenes. Did that help?

I understand that Nancy is tired of being known as "Jo", but in my opinion, if she
doesn't do the reunion, she will ALWAYS
been known as "Jo", This way, if she does
do the reunion, she will have her farewell to the character "Jo".

Or if Jo dies then that would end her "Jo" stereotype.

One would hope, but it's not always the case.
Look at William Shatner. His "Captain Kirk" character got killed off in the movie "Star Trek: Generations"... I truly don't believe that he's shaken off his reputation as the Captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, nor will he.

One thing I'll agree with is that, if Jo dies, then Nancy McKeon can stop worrying about people expecting her to play Jo ever again...however this will not remove anyone's memory of her playing that role.

Type-casting is not something that is easily disposed of. That's why I'm not so sure that
the death of Jo will solve her problems.

I am a Nancy McKeon fan, so what I'm about to say, please don't take this the
wrong way and please don't get angry at
me. I accept her not doing the reunion,
but in my eyes, it's as if she's ashamed
OR embarrased to play the role of Jo
once more. I'm sure she knows this, but
since Facts of Life was a huge success
thanks to ALL the characters, including
Nancy, each person will ALWAYS be known
as the character they portrayed. Better
yet, was Facts of Life her first starring
role on a television show? If yes, FOL
gave her the success that started her career and she wants to forget all that!
I'm not trying to start anything, I'm not! In your opinion, if she had not starred in FOL do you all think that she
would have made it this far in her acting
career? Be honest! Once again, please don't take this the wrong way and please
don't be angry with me! I'm just pointing
out some facts and some of my opinions,
that's all.

I am reading the book 'Growing up Brady' and Barry Williams (Greg) didn't want to do any of the 4 Brady Bunch reunions, and he ended up doing them all. There was only 1 full Brady Bunch reunion (with the whole cast) Then, in A Very Brady Christmas, Maureen (Marcia) didn't appear. Then in the Brady Bunch Variety Hour, Eve (Jan) didn't like the concept, and in the NBC show 'The Brady's' Maureen (Marcia) shook off her Brady-ness and said no. The full reunion was...THE BRADY GIRLS GET MARRIED (The Brady Brides)

Worry not, my friend! We respect you opinions as we realize how honest you are by saying such a thing. I, myself, am also disappointed that she's not doing the reunion however I do respect her decision. She gave us 9 years of Jo and has suffered from "typecasting" eversince.

although we truly appreciate what she has done for us, we are not in her shoes to experience the constant struggle to move onto more roles.

It's not that she wouldn't enjoy doing it, but rather that she's afraid that it might hurt her career.

After about 13 years, this is the first time that she is SUCCEEDING in a regular hit series (it will be back next season). Therefore, I can understand how she doesn't want to ruin anything after acheiving the success that has eluded her for so long.

I, for one, do NOT think that she'd be "ruined" if she reprised her role as "Jo" since all "the Division"'s fans ALREADY know that she used to play "Jo".

Oh well, at least they have decided not to kill Jo after all. And that is a good enough deal for me!

As well, I can only imagine all the potential roles in which she had to be turned down... on account that she was so well-known as Jo.

Ralph, your a poet! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/smile.gif

Anyway, I don't really care if Nancy is not in the movie. As long as Jo is alive.

Back in Star Trek 6 every one was alive in the end. I'd rather remember that instead of Kirks' death in Generations. I would rather remember Jo the way she was than to see her die. I can understand type-casting, but I can't help but love the characters these people portray and refuse to see them die.

The one thing that I might find wierd is why Jo's hubby and kid will be at the reunion and not her...I'm eager to see how they explain this one! But I'm sure it'll be logical.

Actually I probably will probably not watch The Reunion of the Facts of Life. But I just wanted to say in my opinion Nancy has moved on past Jo. When I think of Nancy's ability as an actress In my opinion she can potray anything she wants to and is damn good at it.

Teddy: So, uh... I don't know. What else did you buy?
Jinny: How do you know I bought you anything for your birthday? Maybe I plan on knitting you a sweater or... give you something much more organic.
Teddy: Well, you do give good organic.
