View Full Version : did anyone else like the episode "High Anxiety"?
peter may 02-16-2004, 05:22 PM I finally got to watch this episode for the first time, (i had it taped since last summer but couldnt find the disk it was on), I really enjoyed this episode.
Just to jog your memory it was about when Joe got grounded by the doc because of his high blood pressure. It was a more serious type of episode, but still had some great jokes by Crystal and Steven.:)
phoebe7165 02-17-2004, 01:49 AM OK, Peter, a little off-topic, but I have to ask--what the HECK is your avatar?!! I know I'll probably be sorry for asking that!! What is he DOING?!
As far as this episode, I have to have my memory jogged a little more because although I do recall the episode in question, I just don't remember Crystal's & Steven's jokes.
Krista2882 02-17-2004, 01:51 AM yeah, I did like that episode. It's a pretty good one.
peter may 02-17-2004, 05:17 AM  I'll leave it to your imagination , what he's doing ;)
I just thought it was a funny animation.

It has to be a Barney knock-off doing some sexual gesture!
wingshock 02-18-2004, 01:15 PM Obviously it is a purple hippo riding an invisible pony. Duh!
;)
I also don't remember that ep very well. I remember the blood pressure, and how Brian was going to have to take all the flights... but I don't really remember the funny parts.
Love,
Wing<><

That certainly wasn't my 1st thought upon seeing that. I guess you can tell where my mind was at!!
Chocoholic 02-20-2004, 10:55 AM I liked it. Along with Mother Wore Stripes, it was a little on the serious side, but still managed to be heart-warming and funny. (But without the "Awww!")
Helen Chapel 04-14-2009, 04:21 PM It's funny, this was supposed to be the original pilot but the NBC executives didn't like it, so they wrote "Legacy" instead. Personally, I like this better. I wish we could've had some sort of resolution to this storyline, like how Joe got his pilot's license back and how he lowered his blood pressure and kept it down. What made Brain stay and what made Joe keep him etc. it would have made a good episode.
I notice the writers seem to do that alot, they start a storyline but don't flesh it out to it's full potential. Like Joe losing his plane and Helen losing her Cello, they could've dragged out that story the whole season. Maybe Joe not getting a loan and having to rent a plane from Roy. Or Helen's whole Cello storyline in general, was it even mentioned after "The Gift"? Did she just give up on her dreams? Or Joe buying another plane at the end of season five, the difference of Brian and Joe as partners rather it than just being Joe's airline, it seems that story is just about forgotten after Joe Blows. Would have liked to see more of Lowell and his living with the brothers. Watching season five, I had almost forgotten they lived together until that one episode Lowell moved out.
Ant-Lox 05-09-2009, 11:32 AM I love High Anxiety - I still think the first season is the best season they have made.
And yeah, I agree with you, Helen Chapel ,lol, they could have had Joe doing more to get his plane, or to get a new plane, but they wrapped up the whole storyline in 5 episodes, but it did make sense once he seen his plane dug from out of the ocean.
