"how ya doing?"

david asks maddie how she's doing after he is used by his ex to be a witness to her killing her already dead husband. david falls for jillian again and is blinded by the past they shared. the fun begins when, as in usual "moonlighting" fashion, a multi-car car chase through the graveyard begins with dave and maddie driving the hearse. maddie gets sick when she realizes there is a coffin in the car.
they drive through a drive-in theatre. man!! how many people today would have to ask "what are all those metals things sticking out of the ground in that hilly lot of land"???
this is a good episode.

One of my favorite car chases from any show. Dana Delany was great in this one also.

This was a good episode. :nod: My favorite part was when David left the note and rose for Maddie and then took them back. :( That was really sad.

Ok, I was looking for this thread, because I knew it had to be somewhere, hehehe. I'm writing my coment now because I just saw this episode yesterday. And, btw, if I don't post in other episodes it's just because I haven't seen the episodes yet, ok? I have to wait till the download and it's so da*n slow, but worth the waiting!! hehehehe

Ok, I just wanted to say that I really liked this episode. It was the first time I saw Maddie jelous, because she WAS jelous. And it's also the first time that I saw Maddie having deep feelings for David, being worried about him. Not just atracted to him, because they're atracted from the start, but having another feelings, being concerned about him and all that, or at least that's the way I see it.

I also adored the way David put the flower and the note and then took them away. And did you see Maddie's face when Dave was huging Jillian in the police office? She looked so sad... And then again in her office, feeling alone and miserable. I think she was feeling like she was putting behind, I mean, like David was putting her beside. And she felt terrible about it.

yep, jealousy came. i felt it came soon after meeting. and maddie did show it.

I have come to realize that I have a hard time liking ANY episode that posed a threat to the David/Maddie relationship. Therefore, this is not one of my favorite episodes. There were many moments in it that I loved - but when I think of the entire episode, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't like Gillian because I viewed her as a threat, plain and simple.

One of my favorite scenes in all of ML is the hotel room scene. It is wonderfully acted by both Cybill and Bruce. IMO, they BOTH deserved Emmys.

This is one of earliest episodes that I can remember saying, "I love this show." The chase with the hearse is one of my faves. It was one of the first ones where David showed a vulnerable side and Maddie showed a jealous side. You just knew after this one how they felt about each other even though David not leaving the rose shows you how hard it will be for either of them to admit it.

I love it, eventhough there is "another woman" involved.
I really like their acting in this one, it strikes me as a little different.

Especially in the beginning with Maddie coming in all messed up and dirty, that's great!
Walking around with her panties down, terrific.

David is soft and tender in this one, even for Maddie, who sometimes acts like a bitch, because she's jealous ofcourse (which is sweet btw).
Shame that he took the rose away but....... I guess he didn't want to give in for 100%. He apologised already and that was enough for him I guess.

aaaaaaw the download thing is sooooooooo slooooooow. I have a tiny part from Shirts and Skins but it doesn't even have a sound. I also have the ending of....I think Knowing Her but then I only have the sound:confused:

i can't believe this show is so very, very good. it's truly hard to describe how good moonlighting is.

this episode had music that was really diverse. 'this old heart of mine' to 'choplin's funeral march'. whoever created this show, loved it.

when maddie and david were in the office argueing about how men don't help women, she trips and david catches her-in other words, helps her.

david always appealed to me as the type of man that if he was real, at most, i'd want to know him for one night. well, i learned that there's more to david than meets the eye.
the way he went back to jillian, i learned that when david loves, he really doesn't stop loving. now he's a bit of a mystery to me.

i thought that when david and jillian were kissing outside that this was really wonderfully sexy. and i learned that david's type is the opposite of what maddie is, just like david is the opposite of what maddies type is.

the hearse, baseball diamond chase is probably the best chase scene i've ever seen.

you know, i might have been wrong, maybe david doesn't feel strongly for maddie, maybe he just loves her as a friend and in the previous episodes, it was more about his ego.

maddie seems to have moved closer to feeling a bit possesive about david.

this episode is keeping me guessing.

Marla! This is a great episode, and no wonder you're confused about it or you have "mix" feelings... I think it's a normal thing. Like I said before, from my point of view, this is the episode when we see Maddie really jealous. And that might gives a hint about what happens with their relationship... Well, it lead us to think that behind all that "sexual tension" and mutual atraction, there might be "other" feelings between them, but we can't know it for sure... So we keep wondering what the hell is going on with those two... and that's ML magic!!!!! That's when you get totally hooked!! hihihihi And you wanna know more, and more and moooreee :D

Marla, I loved your comment about the fact that whoever created the show obviously loved it. That's sooo true!! The music is wonderful on this show, better than any other. It was ML that got me interested in listening to motown and turned me on to listening to Billie Holliday as well...

Carina is also right when she says that ML is so addictive, the more I watch, the more I love it. Hey Carina sweetie, almost time for London!!

David and Maddie aren't sure of what's going on between them, and just as you think you've got it worked out, they change yet again! This epi just proves the confusion!

Absolutely. That's one of the many reasons why I think that Dave is quite possibly the best TV character I've ever seen. He comes off as a goofball...a slacker...but he is, in all reality, quite a "complex dude." :D For me, the first few episodes of ML were all about trying to learn these characters inside and out.

Wow yet again. Another great episode :)
