The manufacturers are not fans. I'm not surprised there are no extras. Of course there are advertisements on the menu, which should NOT be included on the DVD I feel. What our purpose should be in this forum is to agree on what we all want as fans and submit that feedback to columbia tristar, etc. so we can get a better product. It doesn't hurt to email them under other names or age demographics to increase the feedback.
So, what do we want? extras? season 2? pilot episode? no ads? ?

I agree with you completely. I bought the Barney Miller Season 1 set today and sat down to watch it. I was shocked at how much was lacking. I am also a big fan of The Dick Van Dyke Show. Seasons 1-3 are out on DVD and they are chock full of extras. They have been very enjoyable to watch. I guess I got spoiled because I thought Barney Miller would be similar. Though the episodes look great, I wish there was more.
