For future seasons of Cheers (Season 3+).... they were more than 22 episodes in each season.
How would they fit??

Here's a breakdown of each season: (1 hour episodes count as 2, the finale counts as 3)

Season 1 - 22 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 2 - 22 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 3 - 25 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 4 - 26 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 5 - 26 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 6 - 25 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 7 - 23 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 8 - 26 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 9 - 26 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 10 - 25 Episodes (4 discs)
Season 11 - 28 Episodes (4 discs?)

Season 11 will have a lot, if they include the Tonight Show special, plus the "other" ending. Each disc will have to fit 7 episodes.
Some other seasons will have to fit 7 episodes on some discs too.

And hopefully somewhere....

"Uncle Sam Malone" will show up.

I think no more than six episodes per disc is ideal for the sake of picture and sound quality. If you put any more on a disc, you have to start digitally compressing everything and begin to lose the brilliance of the audio and video (see Columbia Tri-Star's three-disc TV sets).

When there are more than 24 episodes in a given season, the powers that be should add a fifth disc. Or, if there are 23 episodes and more than an hour of extra features, a fifth disc should again be added to accomodate.

Frasier fits 6 episodes on each disc.

I think that special features should be spread across the discs when there is an equal number of episodes on each disc.
