i was watching the newspaper ep and i realized why i love this show so much. LITB shows the small moments of childhood. i remember wanting to start a newspaper. i remember trying to type my first book on a little tom thumb typewriter (that was a kid's typewriter from the 50's) that i got for my seventh birthday. the whole plot revolves around this and interestingly enough, it has nothing to do with anything that beaver does wrong. it has to do with him learning that other people aren't always available to help him and letting go of wally. very sweet, touch, but very simple.

I loved that episode also!
It was great finally seeing Beav and Wally working so great together, and both enjoying it so much!
I actually had almost the same experience, when I was about 7 or so, and, like them, did manage to sell a few "papers", due to the kindness of our neighbors!

This was a really cute episode! I love the parts where they read the newspaper stories/features out loud - especially the one about the mom asking kids to throw dirt at other kids, not hers, and Larry's weather report about there being no weather to report.
I never wrote a newspaper by myself as a kid - just wrote for the middle school paper - that was so fun!

I remember as a kid back in the early mid 60s, I was a real weather 'nut' (in fact, I still am a weather nut). I can remember typing up weather 'forecasts' on our old manual typewriter and stuffing them in mailboxes in the neighborhood. Yeah, that was pretty weird. Luckily for my parents I got bored with that fairly quickly. LOL. Not my interest in things meteorological, however, that still remains.

In my aunt's attic, we found an antique typewriter hidden. It must have been there for years. It was dusty and old, but it worked remarkably.
