I think TV LAND episodes would be a lot funnier and interesting if they did not cut out CONTROVERSIAL words or scenes. That would make Sanford and Son and All in the Family more interesting. Anyone Agree?

I totally agree with you 100%; but TV Land is infamous for their horrific editing jobs on their television programs, and also infamous for cutting out scenes that are not considered political correct..I persoanlly think someone should write to TV Land and make an announcemet that it is now the 21st century....:lol:

I don't think ANY channel should edit the shows. I would defintely be more inclined to watch a network that shows things "unedited".

TV LAND can still edit just leave in the controversial scenes like UPN does.

"UPN" doesn't decide which scenes stay. The distributor of the show does. That's how local syndication works. It's not UPN, it's your LOCAL UPN. For example, Good Times airs on FOX affiliates as well, not just UPN affiliates.

Nick@Nite/TV Land usually make their own cuts, which at times is a good thing, since we see original openings for most shows and ending tags, which we never see in regular local syndication. So, usually, if you put both versions together, it's almost unedited, if not all of it.

Well thumbs up for my local UPN station for doing such a good editing job with All in the Family, Good Times and Sanford and Son.

My UPN only shows "Cheers" (which is GREAT), "Roseanne" and "The Steve Harvey Show"


Ohh and the classic "Larry Sanders" on Saturday Nights.

Pav you knowand I know that when it comes to N@N airing Three's Company, They are TAG TEASERS-LOL

I still won't watch until they show some more interesting shows.

I totally agree with you..TV Land needs to add "NEW" shows to their programming line-up; though I am a fan of Sanford and Son..I have seen every episode like a hundred times and it is getting pretty old..I just wish they would add sitcoms that you generally do not see on other networks and have not been in syndication for a while; shows like Maude or Chico and the Man, or bring back My Favorite Martian:)

It seems like Sanford and Son been on TV LAND longer than a year-LOL

I used to envy people who had TVLAND, but now as I see the current schedule, the only shows I would want to see on that channel would be Happy Days and Mr. Ed. I saw a TVLAND schedule last year and I couldn't believe all the great shows they had.

TV LAND does air one of my favorite sitcoms but I don't get to see t because it's on at 8pm and i watc sports from 7pm to 11pm. So looks like I will have to wait until the summer to watch AITF if TV LAND still is airing the show.

Here's my thoughts on something like this, and this just doesn't apply to TVLAND, it applies to all networks.

IMO a show is made the way it was for a reason, for a network to take the show and butcher it because they feel something is inappropriate is just ridiculous to me! :mad: I for one don't want some network telling me what's appropriate viewing and what's not.

Take Boy Meets World on Disney, they cut out scenes and have banned episodes they feel are inappropriate for their network, but my feeling is that the show is not a children's show, and Disney shouldn't have picked Up BMW if they're gonna ruin the show, cause they're not consistent with what they edit, it's horrific :eek:

It's like when a network airs a movie, and they replace all the curse words with somehthing different, for me that ruins the movie, cause you know you can see the movie the way it was meant too, same with most tv shows.

Yes I think its because they are part of NICK .. I dont like censorship either and I would have watched MUCH MORE if they didnt do this!!!!
