View Full Version : My Cat died...
MaydayMalonesGirl 02-14-2004, 01:25 PM This morning we brought my cat, Max to the vet and we found out that he had heart disease, he had gone blind, and he had an enlarged liver. So we had him put to sleep. :(
He was my homie. I'm gonna miss him so much. :o
RIP Max. :crying:
MaydayMalonesGirl 02-14-2004, 01:28 PM Here's his picture. I took it yesterday. :(
Bang A Gong 02-14-2004, 01:33 PM I am so very sorry MaydayMalonesGirl.
A few months ago, our cat wasn't doing so well so we took her to the vet and it turned out she had brain damage and her organs were failing so we had to put her to sleep. It was so horrible.
It's awful losing a pet. Again, I am really sorry about Max. He was an adorable cat. I hope you will be okay. Please take care of yourself.

My neighbour killed my pet skunk Stinky with a rock a few years ago. I was mad because Stinky was a good playmate with me. I don't know if my neighbour mistaken her for a wild Skunk or not, but the fact was he was drunk and didn't realize he was sombody's pet. I'll never forgive him for that.
Sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is never easy. Especially when they are part of the family. :(

DianeChambers87 02-14-2004, 02:12 PM Awww lauren i'm so sorry! I have a cat and they are the sweetest animals and make the best pets.   Just think it's in a better place now, where it can chase all the birds, mice, and insects it wants too. ;) I know it's hard to loose a pet, but you'll get through it, don't worry.

Skunks are great. They behave like a dog and a cat. Stinky loved fetching balls and going for walks. She was always snuggling up to me every morning. I never needed an alarm clock, as she would rub her nose in my ear at 6:00AM sharp every day. She was trained to use the litterbox when she need to go, and she was great around friends and strangers.
Skunks are not expensive to buy. We purchased Stinky for around $80.00. Shots and basic veterinarian care costs are the same if you had a cat or a dog. :)
Janice 02-14-2004, 02:23 PM I'm sorry for your loss Lauren. Max looks like he was a good little guy.

Awww! He was so cute, too. :(
I can relate...I have three cats right now...And I REALLY don't know what I'd do if one of them passed away. I already had a cat that was run over by a car and killed almost six summers ago (July 1998). One of the current cats I have was siblings with him...She's 9, almost 10 now, so I know soon she is going to start showing signs of old age, and it won't be too long before she passes away too...Ugh. :(
It breaks my heart to hear something like that. :crying:
MaydayMalonesGirl 02-14-2004, 03:51 PM Thanks everyone. We just buried him in our mini pet cemetary [we have 2 dogs, a rabbit, and now a cat back there]. We all wrote him a note and put some pictures in there with him. I also gave him my drumsticks because he used to chew on them constantly. I'm such a mess right now... I had Maxy for 10 years and now he's gone. :(
Hollow 02-14-2004, 04:40 PM i'm so sorry! :( thats awful. ive had my cat princess since i was 7, if i ever lost her i'd go crazy. she seems to love me more than anyone i know.
webuster 02-14-2004, 04:42 PM Lauren, everything you've said about your cat is so sad, I'm almost crying myself! I'm so sorry for your loss, I love animals too- and have a dog. At leats you'll have fond memories, he looked like a cute little cat too.
:bighug:
O.Takashowah 02-14-2004, 04:45 PM Ten years is a good long life that you gave your cat. Be glad for the time you spent with him. I lost my cat a few years ago and he was 18 years old. My other female cat lived to be 22. I think you should get another one soon, but let yourself grieve properly. It's healthy to cry!

Yeah... not to be mean to the rest of my family, but Max was basically my cat. He used to sleep in my bed with me practically every night. :crying: I'm so misrable. :o

Mr. Television 02-15-2004, 01:48 AM I'm sorry about your cat too. I've lost a lot of pets and I know the feeling. :(
phoebe7165 02-15-2004, 02:15 AM Lauren, accept my condolences, too. I don't care what anybody else says(especially non-pet people), pets really are part of the family and it's heart-wrencing to lose one. At least he didn't suffer much.
I'm so sorry. I've had cats my entire life and it always breaks my heart when we lose one. They're so loving, and it's impossible not to miss them. I've lost many, and I still miss each and every single one.
Bugiddle 02-15-2004, 03:35 AM Oh, I'm very sorry to hear of your cat passing away! He was a very handsome kitty. I have a cat and she is my little buddy - I would be heartsick if I lost her! I'm glad you gave him a nice little funeral. He's in a better place now.
Take care.
robyrob 02-15-2004, 10:30 AM i'm so sorry lauren - treasure your memories of him always :(
