OK, call me crazy, but I think Joyce DeWitt of "Three's Company" would have made a wonderful Ms. Bliss. Think about it. Does anyone agree?

View Full Version : "...and Joyce DeWitt as Carrie Bliss" GrandGame1440 02-12-2004, 04:22 PM OK, call me crazy, but I think Joyce DeWitt of "Three's Company" would have made a wonderful Ms. Bliss. Think about it. Does anyone agree? barb1686 02-12-2004, 11:15 PM Yeah...I totally disagree. Sorry...I don't like that actress at all and I definitely don't see her as Miss. Bliss. No offense...but Hayley Mills fit that character perfectly. SBTBGoddess 02-13-2004, 01:08 AM Um..what a random actress. Can you explain why you think she would have been a good "Carrie Bliss"? Yea. I disagree, as well. Hayley Mills was perfect for the role. SBTB Geek 02-13-2004, 02:19 AM I don't want to sound rude or anything but whenever I think of Joyce DeWitt, she reminds me of a "bitchy" person. Her attitude and even her looks don't fit the personality of a "Miss Bliss." Hayley perfected the role of "Carrie." GrandGame1440 02-13-2004, 01:53 PM I must disagree, Joyce was never at all, how did you say? B**chy. Her character of Janet was a sweet loving kind person. Joyce was a wonderful actress and great person at that. You must not have seen "Three's Company" that often. Hayley was great in the role, I'm not disputing that. I'm just saying she probably could have played a teacher if she tried. It would been some great work for her seeing that she only did one tv show and hasn't worked since. SBTB Geek 02-13-2004, 02:03 PM "Janet" wasn't bitchy but by the late 80's Joyce DeWitt was, having her in a childrens show wouldn't portray "Good Morning Miss Bliss" in a good light. Whenever the audience would of watch "Miss Bliss" they would of thought of an angry has-been that has a vendetta against Suzanne Somers. GrandGame1440 02-13-2004, 04:18 PM No offence; she was an actress, a GREAT actress, not a "has-been." Thank You.... SBTB Geek 02-13-2004, 04:29 PM Originally posted by Justin S. Aldridge she was an actress Exactly... was... which makes her a has-been. :\ GrandGame1440 02-13-2004, 04:37 PM Will I guess Dustin Diamond is a has-been to!!! :D SBTB Geek 02-13-2004, 09:48 PM Originally posted by Justin S. HuntingtonM15 02-14-2004, 01:02 AM I like Joyce, but no, she wouldn't have made a good Miss Bliss. xOxMizzBrodyxOx 02-14-2004, 12:41 PM Originally posted by SBTB Geek I don't want to sound rude or anything but whenever I think of Joyce DeWitt, she reminds me of a "bitchy" person. All the crew gives her the credit for building the foundation that allowed the megahit to get started. Who knows how big the show would've been if she would've stuck around. Too bad the suits weren't willing to pay her enough to keep her. SBTBGoddess 02-16-2004, 12:42 PM I love Hailey Mills. However, I probably would have not liked "SBTB" being focused on a teacher, rather than Zack and the gang. In GMMB, they did this mostly and I just really like the fact that SBTB was changed and mainly only focused into the antics of Zack and his friends...it was a lot more fun, I think. Maybe Hailey Mills could have been a regular teacher, in the background, but she's too good for that. If anything, on SBTB they didn't shed good light on the teachers, maybe with Hailey Mills they would have. But I still wouldn't have liked her in "SBTB" because of how I think they would have made the show. theTHRILL 02-16-2004, 12:52 PM love Hailey Mills. Yeah, whatever. This just shows that you'd never make it as a TV producer. It requires instincts, which you clearly don't have. SBTBGoddess 02-16-2004, 02:25 PM Hey, relax. This is my opinion. SBTB is what it is. It's a classic without Hayley Mills. But you're right about something. I am not a TV producer or plan to be one. But Mr. Engel and the others are and they had an instinct. They saw a better show on NBC without Hayley Mills. Let me remind us all my first comment about the topic. I can't picture anyone else, besides Hayley Mills, who could have played "Carrie Bliss"! theTHRILL 02-16-2004, 03:14 PM OK, I'm sorry. That was totally uncalled for on my part. I just get upset by the constant ridicule that Ms. Bliss suffers at the hands of so-called fans of SBTB. Why more people don't see the huge impact she had on the show's formative years is something that has caused quite a few sleepless nights. Nevertheless, that's no excuse for me to respond in the way I did. I hope you accept my apology SBTB Goddess. SBTBGoddess 02-16-2004, 03:39 PM Originally posted by theTHRILL OK, I'm sorry. All in all, Hayley was a GREAT Ms. Bliss!! ;) barb1686 02-17-2004, 04:30 PM Yes she was. ;) SBTB Geek 02-17-2004, 07:54 PM Actually, I wonder how "Saved By The Bell" would of been if Miss Bliss stayed. theTHRILL 02-18-2004, 08:51 AM Actually, I wonder how "Saved By The Bell" would of been if Miss Bliss stayed. 100% better. As good as it was after she left, there was always that "something" that was missing, that was keeping it from being golden. That something was Miss Bliss. Maxamillion 02-18-2004, 12:06 PM Actually the show exploded after Ms. Bliss was booted off by NBC. Too much baggage involved!!! See my earlier threads on the scandal/coverup. I still stick by my story eventhough the moderator "geek" doesnt believe me. Just kinda odd they got rid off most of the Bliss cast and moved the whole get up to a beach setting. The new format is what is responsible for the rise of the show. Had they cast somebody different from Hayley Mills the controversary would have never happened and the show would never be as big as it is today. SBTBGoddess 02-18-2004, 01:13 PM I stick to my opinion and agree with Maxamillion . theTHRILL 02-18-2004, 01:26 PM That's enough Maxamillon! Your trashing of an honorable woman has gone on long enough! I thought I made it clear earlier that the so-called "scandal" you repeatedly refer to had nothing to do with Ms. Bliss. It involved other cast members who shall remain nameless. I don't know why you have the vendetta against Ms. Bliss, but it needs to stop! SBTBGoddess 02-18-2004, 01:37 PM LOL This is hilarious! theTHRILL 02-18-2004, 01:40 PM Your "holier than thou" act is getting pretty worn out Goddess. From the way it seems, you don't even know much about the show. SBTBGoddess 02-18-2004, 01:53 PM Oh come on, get over it already. I don't see a GMMB forum, memorablilia, tshirts, hats, buttons, or DVD's etc! I never saw mall tours where there were thousands of people to see "Miss Bliss". Get my point. Just swallow it and accept it...GMMB wasn't picked up and SBTB was better. And that's that. This is supposed to be a fun forum with "pointless" debates. You're just making it sour. Attacking people in the wrong ways. Blah! And if you think I don't know a lot about the show, then why such a threatened comment? Don't assume things just because I don't agree with you. Now let's move on. theTHRILL 02-18-2004, 02:54 PM Goddess - You are completely right. I was steamed and over-reacted because of Maxamillon's remarks. I shouldn't have diverted my feelings to you and I'm sorry for that. It won't happen again. I'm sure you know more about SBTB than I ever will. Maxamillion 02-20-2004, 10:03 AM What a crazy thread. People post their opinions on SBTB and they get attacked! Dont forget people that we are all on the same team here  |
