I do too. Lucky me, this year I get to go work on my research paper on V-day. Not to rain on anyone's parade...but, it's just basically an excuse for the card companies to rip people off. Why should there be one day singled out to profess your love of someone? That should happen everyday.

Spending the day with a group of friends, then we're going out to eat.

Kid's Advice For Lovebirds:

How can you tell if two adults eating dinner are in love?

Flower and chocolate companies get a nice share of the profits too.

And what a ripoff that roses suddenly become like $100 a dozen just for that day.

I'm always alone on Valentine's Day :( It stinks.

A couple of years ago my roommate and I started this tradition where, whenever we don't have dates for Valentines, we go together down to the Basken Robbins, eat ice cream, and think about how miserable we are ;) This has become a ritual now - I highly recommend it. ICE CREAM HELPS! :D

Most Americans Say 'I Love You' Every Day

CHAPPAQUA, New York (Feb. 13) - Apparently it's not just on Valentine's Day that people manage to say, "I love you."

Nearly three-quarters of Americans - not counting those who live alone - say "I love you" at least once a day, according to a new poll.

And that goes for men as well as for women.

The poll, conducted in November by Chappaqua-based Reader's Digest and the Gallup Organization, asked 1,000 adults living in households how often they said those three little words to their spouse or children.

Seventy-three percent claimed they said it once a day, including 71 percent of men and 74 percent of women. In addition, 14 percent claimed to say "I love you" several times a week, and 5 percent said they say it once a week, which would mean 92 percent of Americans say the words at least once a week.

A third of those who responded said they found themselves saying "I love you" more than they did five years ago.

The poll had a margin of error of 5 percentage points.
