That's great! I was hoping you would find the house today.

You really need to take a picture and post it here so we can compare. I'm surprised the house isn't mentioned more in the city. Yes, San Francisco has a ton of tourist attractions, as I learned when I visited there 10 years ago, but I would think that the house would be a nice TV tourist spot as well.

Most homes used in sitcomes are real so I guess the actual owners don't always enjoy fans staring and gawking, but that's the price you pay when you buy a famous house.

Next time you head over there with your camera, take several pictures at different angles and close up ones too.

Then maybe somebody could make a nice link about the house for fans wanting to know more about it.

The problem is that it doesn't look like many people have TV tuners, and there aren't many screenshots of the house from the show at all. If no one can get any, I'll just pick up a TV tuner myself over the weekend and start taking images from the show. I know that during the shows there were a lot of zoom-ins on windows and the door, and I hope to get photos so I can compare small details on the house.

The street is on the edge of the Pacific Heights district, it was really quiet and it isn't really wide. Assuming that is the correct house, I think they recorded the shots of the house from another house on the opposite side of the street,

I had the two pictures I mentioned, and most comparisons checked out. The doors were red, just like in the show. If you look at this shot:

You can see the border on top of the door, the design of the 1st and 2nd story windows, the decoration around the 2nd story window on the right. You can also see that the house on the left has a similar rounded window design, while the one on the right has the flat window design. While the picture isn't really that high quality, from what I could tell, all those details matched with the house I saw. It was painted in light tyellow, and all the border designs were in white.

Now, unforunatly, you can see in that picture that there is a tree to the right of the staircase. I saw a tree as well, but it was fully grown, so I can't take a shot directly looking at the facade of the building, but I'll have no problem taking shots from the sides and up close.

And yeah, I'm surprised no one has had the address to the house before. It would seem like an interesting place to visit for fans of Full House in San Francisco. There's a few other locations I'd like to take photos of in real life and the show and then compare them as well. Like Alamo square, the scene where the family is getting off of the cable car (I believe I know exactly where that is already), and I'd also like to locate some of the places that were shot during "Comet's Excellent Adveture", because that episode was filled with San Francisco. There are also the shots during the season one opener with Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard Street which I definitely know the locations to.

Well, I think a travellstore gruop (like apollon and wings) have write about the house in their commersielpapers. That´s was the reason my friend saw the house, on a showtrip in San Fran.

It may be known my residents or something, but I don't think the address is published anywhere. There were a lot of houses that had similar styles in the Pacific Heights area, and the area is fairly large, so it was a bit tough to find the exact location.

If you saw that house, would you dare to go knock? Would you ask if you could look around the house?
Does that house look ANYTHING like it did in Full House (the inside of it)?

I saw this picture at one time since that house is different than the other ones used for this show.

I don't think the people living there would want that, unfortunatly. I doubt the inside would look like the Full House set. It there's going to be houses for sale in the Pacific Heights area, maybe I'll swing by a house that looks similar or something.

I'm going to try to pick up a digital camera on Saturday so I can get some pictures up pretty soon.

If you look at any sitcom house, you'll probably notice that the studio set very rarely, hardly ever matches the outside of the actual real house used in the exterior shots.

I'm not too sure if the owners of the house would appreciate a complete stranger knocking on their door to ask them that.

Then again, they might be used to it. Who knows?

I guess all owners are different, you just never know how they will react. In the link about the Brady Bunch house I posted above, you'll notice that the house now has a brick wall around it because the owners got sick of fans coming on to their lawn and staring through the window. I'm sure many owners of famous TV homes know the feeling.

When ever they showed the front of the house with alot of others houses next to it that screen shot has been used in about 5 other sitcoms.

I think you're right. First of all, you'll notice that the real house isn't very wide at all. It looks about 20-25 feet wide to me. The inside of the living room on Full House was huge.

Also, when going up the staircase to the second floor, there is a window on the wall. You know, when they have shots from the second floor looking down the hallway, you can see this. What's funny is, it's a small thin window, but it's on the opposite side of the house compared to where the door is. In the real house, it's right above the door!

And I doubt the real house has a living room that is two stories high. I'm pretty sure all the rooms on the first floor are one story high.

Exactly. Also, when looking at the outside of the house, you can easily notice that there is no way there could be a third story attic (where Jessie, Becki and the twins lived) especially seeing how huge the attic was. Besides the garage, this house is no more than two stories.

The down stairs living room looks a little too wide as you say.

I'm guessing on most TV shows, the studio set is built before they find a real house to use in exterior shots. At least they got the living room window right.

It's not a perfect match to the real house, but it's a much better match then other sitcom houses, (such as Family Matters, Golden Girls, Designing Women, Step by Step, and many others)

Yeah, my goal is to get them on Monday. I'll also pick up a TV tuner and try to get some high quality shots of the house during the show.

What's strange, is that there appears to be rooms above the living room and kitchen, but the height of the 1st floor seems to be very high. You're right about the attic, there's no attic at all :D

According to King Creole's plans, the DJ's and Joey's room are at the front of the house, so that large window should be in DJ or Joey's room (or both, it seems), and the small one in the unknown room.

The first floor front of the house in the show matches up very nicely, however :)

do you guys think they knew they weren't following the real house. I mean, do you think when they were building the set design, they knew they weren't following the desin of the house photo they use as the tanners"house", or do you think they knew and just didn't care. I think they may of knew but didn't really care, but its interesting.

Thanks! Those pictures are in the daytime and look more clear, and I think they make it more clear that the house I saw is really the one.

I picked up a digital camera and TV tuner of my own yesterday. I'll take some more shots with my TV tuner, and I'll try to take some shots of the real house on Monday and have them uploaded on Monday as well :)

On-topic then: on the images I posted, you can actually see that there is some (minor ?) difference between the actual house and the internal set. On the second image I posted, the house they used is the one with the red roof. I believe the exterior view shows a less sloping roof than the interior of the attick makes us believe there is.

Another thing I noticed is that house-only shots show really red doors, but if somenone opens a door, it's actually more brown than red. Doesn't need to be a mistake or anything, but it's something I noticed anyway.
