to see how bad it was or just watching a show for the first time and using your own judgment? I watched Sanford Arms for the first time and actually enjoyed it and it was cancelled after 30 days. So i normally use my own judgment instead of picking out what's wrong with the show.

Usually my own judgement; there is usually other factors why a show was unsuccessful..recently I watched The New Odd Couple that only lasted a season; I liked the show a lot..even though most of the episodes were carbon copies of the orginial Odd Couple; I thought Ron Glass played a fabulous Felix ( I am not being bias, either)...But I thought the show was enjoyable and well acted...

My own judgement.

For instance, "Tokyo Pig" on ABC Family (I know its not a sitcom) lasted only 30 episodes.

FOX's "The Tick" lasted 13 episodes. Same with "The Lone Gunmen."

They were all shows I enjoyed.

I like to think I have an open mind, however sometimes ot's the same kind of fascination that causes people to gawk at an accident. Yeah, it's horrible but you gotta see it!

On a related note, I'm often puzzled when a show that [I think] is terrible becomes a success!
