Edited: I guess a reunion would be fun as long as Sam and Diane DON'T get married. In my opinion, the two of them are just two different and dysfunctional to have a lasting marriage

I have only one demand....

Ted, Shelley, George, John, Rhea, Woody, and Kelsey MUST be there.

As much as I like her.... Bebe is a give or take.
Not essential.... but would be nice.

And at this point.... I dont really care about Kirstie.

Ohh and one last thing....
it MUST be "filmed in front of a live, studio audience"

cutiepi22

yea....bebe's not essential at all...........although it would be nice

All good points that I agree with.

And as far as not caring about Kirstie, I prefer she not be involved at all.

I would love it if they were ALL included, but if they don't wanna do it, do it without them!~

I would prefer Kirstie to be there, but she's a give and take, as is lilith.

But the coolest part is....
besides Kirstie and Bebe.... Ive heard somewhere that they'd all love to do it.... and some are just waiting for "the call"

And I would be VERY suprised if Bebe wouldnt want to do it, seeing how many times she has guest starred on Frasier.

Teddy02
02-12-2004, 08:32 PM
yeah i'm pretty sure bebe would do it she's never complained b4! anyway i know they're waiting at least until frasier is over, i mean why would they do it while it was still on lol well that's given i guess. ok nm i'm just rambling

With Frasier coming to an end, the "Cheersiverse" will be closing after nearly 21 years. As such, I think it's only a matter of time before we see an in-character reunion, or at the very least, a retrospective special.

barwars
02-13-2004, 05:50 PM
I agree.
Actually.... its coming close to 22 years, this September.
Id say the sooner the better.... but if it were going to happen sometime in the "distant" future Id say September 2007 would be perfect.
25 Years of Cheers.
Or even better.... 22 Years of Cheers.

I liked your idea about a "Simon Moon" spinoff.
But he's doing "Without A Trace".... so thats not going to happen.

I still think that either Bebe or Bulldog would work good in a spinoff.
Or even more obvious -- Roz.

DianeChambers87
02-13-2004, 10:41 PM
haha I would definately watch a Niles spinoff! haha I love niles, more than I like Frasier, he's hilarious. I wanna see Niles in Cheers.....hahaha that would be great.

I think after awhile Niles will end up like Frasier if he spends too much time in Cheers!~

I think the best way to find out about a Cheers reunion would be on that looking back special right after the Frasier finale. Kind of like a big surprise you know what I mean?

barwars
02-14-2004, 09:34 PM
I think its just before the finale.
And if there are any sort of "studio questions" I can almost guarantee someone asking about a Cheers reunion.

May 13th.... kinda weird that its all gonna end so soon.
Im glad I got into these shows (cheers and frasier).... before it was too late.

I cant wait until Feb 24.... NANNY G RETURNS!!

I know.... that does suck.

But its better than nothing.
And hopefully she has more talent than the actress who played her on "Don Huan Is Hell"

I have always thought that before "Frasier" came to an end, they should have an episode that takes place back at the Cheers bar. It would be a great way to honor the show that "Frasier" spun off from. It doesn't look like that will happen now.

FOLN@NFan
02-14-2004, 10:54 PM
laurie metcalf?? from Roseanne? that should b interesting...
that'll make 3 actresses for Nanny G now...

i dunno about the Frasier finale...i think that a Cheers reunion should get its own show. (personally, starting the finale at the bar, and having it lead into a separate reunion show altogether would b perfect). but if u think about it, we just had "Cheerful Goodbyes" which in some cases is to close 2 another episode like that (well, maybe not, now that i said that...)

and how do we know it wont b at Cheers? did i miss something?

I dont think they should.... it would ruin the novelty of a reunion.

But the set is complete somewhere in LA, they have Monday Night Football partys there all the time.
I think they should use the original set for a Cheers reunion, and the easiest way to start it would have Frasier coming to Boston.... to find Sam back with Diane.

All I can say is I'm glad the series ended with them seperated.

There would be no "reunion" if nobody was reuniting.

I know this post is originally way old, but since it's been brought back to life, then...

meeeee!

I'm with you all, Bebe and Kirstie are give or take for me, though I'd prefer them to be there just so it's complete.

And it needs to be an episode/movie type thing, not one of those things where the cast gets back together and talks and they show clips.

No no, that's a moo point. Like, you know, a cow.

(I love that Joeyism).

I actually almost put that, but I was afraid not many people here would catch that.

That's one of my favorite Joey lines, too. "It's like a cow's opinion. It just... doesn't matter."

My thoughts on the reunion:

Should be done sometime in the 2007 year= 25 years of Cheers

Would be great to have Lilith in it... but not necessary.

Sam and Diane should NOT get together/get married because it would sort of contradict the series finale. (Plus they are so much funnier apart!)

I'd like Rebecca to be in it... but if Kirstie is going to be a bitch and not want to do the show, it's not the end of the world.

The writers could get Diane and Fraiser (and even Lilith) to come back to Cheers cuz the bar could be celebrating some milestone anniversary. Or it could be the anniversary of when Sam bought the bar and he's invited back all the old regulars and employees.

Norm should end up buying the bar from Sam.

Diane should finally be successful and have a real job. (Although it might be funnier to see her still as unsuccessful as in the series.)

By the way... is NBC making plans for a reunion... or are we just fantasizing?

slackermonkey
11-12-2004, 01:43 AM
Just fantasizing for now.

I know George Wendt really wants a reunion, but NBC hasn't said anything yet. They'll probably do a thing similar to The "Seinfeld" Story in the next few years, but I doubt they'll ever do an actual reunion episode/movie.

I am not really found of "ohh we did this and they did this and now this is happening" Reunions I think a finalie is a finalie dont ruin it. Im sure they would do a great jod but i mean look at what could happen. i like more of a clip show where the cast reunites and talks about old times and favorite moments sort of like "The Cosby Show: A Look Back" Special. You Know What would Be really Sweet(even if it is against what i said earlier), If they wrote like so Sripts and made Cheers:2005 and did like a season with all the characters? what do you think?

Oh, I would love a Cheers reunion! I think it would be cool to see what all of the Cheers gnag was up to in the year 2005. Something else that would be cool would be for the cast to get together and talk about the fun times they had on the show. I think before the 1st season of Seinfeld was released, they did something like that on TV... where the cast got together and just talked about the laughs they all had. I really enjoyed watching that, and wish they would do something like that for Cheers.

Just my thoughts...

Nope, that wasn't it. I saw that too about a month or so ago maybe? But what I'm talking about is also on the 1st/2nd season of Seinfeld... and it aired sometime this past Winter... I think.

So by now, Woody's a longstanding city councilman. Carla is manager. Rebecca is a housewife with a blue collar husband. A young, streetwise black kid is bartending along with Sam, who still owns the bar but still is unmarried. Norm and Cliff still sit there all day but now Cliff has an adopted son who he molds into his own image. Frasier, who's in town to visit Frederick, stops by with Niles (who was dumped by Daphne when she realized what a mistake she mad) and their dad.

The new waitress is a very attractive and intelligent blonde chic who deals with a Sam-type boyfriend who is on a college baseball team but he is dim-witted but he loves her very much.

When the Cranes come to visit, Rebecca and Woody return to Cheers for a big reunion with all the old regulars, plus the new bartender and waitress and some of Carla's grown up kids (like the priest and Ludlow's son).

The plot can be one final assault on Gary's Olde Town Tavern. A sub-plot can be Frederick comes in the way of the new waitress and her man. The black kid invents the most brilliant way to thwart Gary's Tavern. Cliff Jr. eventually tells his adopted dad that he doesn't want to be like him. Carla and Sam fall in love, 30 years after first meeting each other.

The main characters of this reunion show should be Cliff, Norm and the black kid. I can see alotta comedic chemistry goin' on there.

The show should end with Carla and Sam exploring their feelings for one another. Sam realizes that Carla is the only human being out there who will truly love him, unconditionally. Sam has always loved Carla, but not physically. But now, at Sam's age, it's what's inside that truly matters. This leads Sam to be able to express his love for Carla in a deeper way. The show ends with Carla cracking wise at Sam, as she now establishes her new role as Sam's significant other, rather than just his employee.

A reunion would be great but I feel no matter what the writers come up with, there will be fans that will be disappointed with whatever direction they go with. Although I would LOVE to have Sam & Diane end up together, im sure others wouldn't want this.
Well even if they did not end up together during the course of the Cheers-Frasier years, I like to think that somewhere down the road, they do end up together.

How about a reboot as soon as Tom Brady retires. He can play himself, except Giselle dumps him so he turns to alcohol, then buys Cheers.
