View Full Version : Facts of Life animated series
Ralph_Malph 07-08-2001, 11:36 PM In the 80's many sitcoms and shows had saturday morning cartoon versions based themselves. (e.g. "Fonz and the Happy Days Gang", "Laverne and Shirley", "Mork and Mindy", "the Gary Coleman show" (based on his made-for TV movies, where he played a guardian angel) etc...
Would you have watched a cartoon-adaptation of FOL??? Would you have even wanted for there to be one?

Jo:Ferra, you're melting my toothbrush!
Sean Snow 07-09-2001, 12:54 PM I would ahve liked it, but it wouldn't have lasted. Kids useally don't want lessons in their cartoons, but then of course, being thrown in the air by a mascot IS funny! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

In the news today, Mr. T will NOT pity fools in small cases, due to the riseing cost of pity.
Peekskill citizen 07-09-2001, 03:08 PM I would have watched the animated series. I think it would have been really funny. Do you think they would have left the same theme song?

(Vernon) What was that ruckus?
(Andrew) Uh, what ruckus?
(Vernon) I was just in my office and I heard a ruckus.
(Brian) Could you describe the ruckus, sir?

Well, the cartoons for Fonzie and Laverne and Shirley didn't have much to do with their actual TV shows (other than the fact that the characters were the same). For example, Fonz and his friends travelled through time to face many adventures, while trying to get back to 1950's Milwaukee. And Laverne and Shirley were in the army.
Therefore, the theme of the FOL cartoon would not have had to be the same as the sitcom.
Personally, I'd have found it funny to see the girls take on monsters and bad guys. I also find that the characters in FOL would have worked well as cartoon characters, namely Blair and Nathalie.
However, I'm sure it wouldn't have lasted as you said...just as it didn't work out for
ANY of those sitcom-spinoff-cartoons.

Probably not, but perhaps something in the same tradition.
