I forgot about Mickey Richardson, that was funny! Yeah Lodee, but i LOVED it when Desi let Lucy do a few comedic bits between his singing numbers, you know to get her started in the business! LOL! Because of that, she landed a couple of other shows after this one, LOL!

Hmmm..........Mickey and David both missing? :eek: Coincedence? I don't know. ;)

They were last seen watching a Lucy Desi marathon in Piccadily Square!

Like Dr Frankenstein once said, I HAVE CREATED A MONSTER! LOL! Was HE called Mr Television? No that was Mr Berle. Was he the recipient of Four Emmy awards and the Governor's award from the academy? No that was she! The First Lady of Television! Did he get inducted into the TV Hall of Fame, yes, she the first year and he the seventh year. Is he beloved the world over? Well, actually, they both are, yeah! And it's a well deserved honor, that's for sure! Nice to have you back kiddo, what was the deal with everybody NOT posting anyway?

Would he have won more awards if he wasn't Cuban? Probably! Would he have equal recognition if the show was being made today? Definitely! Was the world back then obsessed with the idea that someone is funny just because they can fall over a lot and gurn at the camera? Clearly!

He wouldn't have won any awards because he would still be ONE LOUSY ACTOR, regardless of being Cuban. But you're absolutely right, he would have the recognition for his genius BEHIND the scenes. As for that crack at the end, i have been watching her for half a century and i still marval at her genius in taking regular material and creating magic with it, that will never change. BOY, YES, HE IS BACK ALL RIGHT!

Nah. She's still only funny for making silly faces and tripping over the scenery...

As for Desi being a bad actor... well, he's not as good as Pacino, granted - but he's at least as good as Harrison Ford! Which ain't saying much, granted, but if one person can make a multi-million dollar career at it, why shouldn't another?! And Lucy has yet to impress me with her acting. She's very funny - I like to take the mick out of some of you guys, but I wouldn't love the show so much if I didn't find her funny - but I don't find her that great an actor. Desi's better in Bataan than Lucy was in any 'proper' acting role. He's better in Too Many Girls, too.

Pacino rarely bites his lip when doing comedy, and if she is guilty of MAKING FACES, what the heck do you call what that conga drum bum does? LOL! Watch The Big Street and then Bataan will seem like Ernest goes to camp! LOL! But he does do an Oscar caliber shiver though!

I hate The Big Street! Sorry! And okay, so Pacino doesn't get the giggles on screen - but maybe we just haven't seen the outtakes! It's only The Usual Suspects that uses them as part of the movie, after all.

Me too! Kevin Spacey is da bomb! Can you tell this is my new favorite expression? LOL! Please check him out in the incredible Life of David Gayle, is is da bomb too, LOL!

Only problem with Kevin Spacey is, he attracts the eye too much. It's because he's good, I guess, but it means that, even if you come to Usual Suspects knowing nothing about the film, you know straight away that he's more than he appears to be! Which rather ruins the "who is Keyser Soze" gimmick. 'Cause it's obviously him. :) And, just in the interests of keeping the argument going, he's not as good as Gabriel Byrne anyway. :)

:) Well, I haven't watched that since S1, so I shouldn't really comment... but that's not exactly a compliment, is it! Chandler still makes me smile, but if there's one show that deserves to be approaching its last ever episode, it's Friends. Unlike Angel. :crying:

True, very true, Friends really sucks big time lately, the writers ran out of ideas and the actors are doing ridiculous things to get laughs. Remember Bekah, that we are only joking about Lucy and Desi, they were both magic and we wouldn't be here singing their praises if they weren't the best there ever was. Well Lucy anyway, LOL!

I haven't seen Friends in about 3 years, except an occasional episode here and there. :) I used to love that show too.

I know, same here, i watched it three times or so last year and am only watching now because i want to see how it ends. Phoebe's marriage was another stinker. The laughs are few and very forced, in my opinion. Imagine, they want to sell us the 9 years on DVD at 50 bucks a year, i think i'll pass.

Me too. :rolleyes: The last one I remember watching is the Brad Pitt one and it was hilarious.

Oh yeah, they still have their moments of inspiration, there are far worse shows on tv, that's fer shur!
