View Full Version : Portland Trades Rasheed Wallace To Atlanta For Shareef Abdur Rahim & Theo Ratliff
isiahthomas 02-10-2004, 01:56 PM I saw this on NBA.com/Blazers website. Portland also got Dan Dickau from Atlanta in the deal. I know Rasheed isn't happy about playing for a losing team LOL. He isn't gonna be there long, i betcha that. I'm happy for Shareef Abdur Rahim though. He finally is going to a good team. Theo Ratliff is a very good shot blocker & he'll help Portland out with that. Atlanta also got Wesley Person in the deal.
jekouptown 02-10-2004, 03:24 PM Now Portland has too many forwards....and what is Atlanta going to do but REBUILD. Rasheed is not going to resign with them.
isiahthomas 02-10-2004, 04:34 PM LOL@Rasheed isn't going to resign with Atlanta. Dan Dickau is a shooting guard i believe. I feel bad for Wesley Person. He goes from a winning team to a losing team. I wish the Cavs still had him. He's a good shooter.

They have a killer frontline now: SF: Abdur-Rahim, PF: Randolph, and C: Ratliff.
Not to mention Dale Davis as back-up center. Dickau will back-up Damon Stoudamire. I like their starting five, they have Derek Anderson as well. Patterson is pretty good off the bench as well. They should have kept Person and dealt Stephania or someone.
isiahthomas 02-10-2004, 05:17 PM I heard that Ruben Patterson wants out of Portland. He should sign with Cleveland if that's the case. Cleveland is his hometown & the Cavs could use his scoring off the bench cause their bench is very weak. He almost tried to sign with the Cavs some yrs ago but his wife persuaded him to resign with Portland cause she figured if he played in Cleveland, he would get into trouble cause all his family is there. He did get into a fight at a nightclub in Cleveland some yrs ago that he went to court about & settled.

He's a good player, but come on, Randolph/Ratliff/Abdur-Rahim are for SURE starters. Miles was even coming off the bench in Cleveland. I think he is more effective off the bench. Miles and Patterson off the bench is strong.

1. RANDOLPH is so unproven.
2. RATLIFF is no scoring option
3. SHARIF will not be able to guard players at the 3 spot.
I would run it this way..
Randolph,Abdur-Rahim,Miles,Anderson,Stoudamire.
Ratliff is not going to make a stink coming off the bench.
isiahthomas 02-11-2004, 04:59 PM What u talkin about Zach Randolph is a unproven player? Have u lost your mind? Zach is leading the team in scoring this yr & he's leading them in rebounding. Theo Ratliff is gonna start at center, believe that. Darius Miles is gonna be coming off the bench.

I have not lost my mind. Half a season does not make you a PROVEN player. If you need specific details...see RONALD FLIP MURRAY.(seattle)..he was the 3rd leading scorer in the league. For that matter I remember when LEE NAILON was the shyt. mashburn was hurt and NAILON made himself look like he was the next big thing..that crossover dribble of his looked unstoppable..until they started watching game film. You jumping to pat ZACH on the back a little too soon. When the other teams figure out how to stop that over weight guy(zach) from getting to the middle of the court then we will see how proven he is. you might like his game but its unproven as of yet.
isiahthomas 02-11-2004, 05:51 PM U have a point about Ronald Murray & Lee Nailon. Ronald faded away quick after Ray Allen came back from injury. Lee Nailon is with Orlando now right? He was with Atlanta this season but they barely played him. New Orleans should've kept him. He was good for them. I disagree with u about Zach Randolph though. He's gonna be good for a long time.

maybe its the LONG SOCKS he wears throwing me off.*l*
isiahthomas 02-11-2004, 06:00 PM LOL@Zach's long socks. I've never noticed his socks. Have u ever noticed Samuel Dalembert's socks? Samuel plays for Philly. He has one sock pulled up & the other sock down LOL. Is Lee Nailon with Orlando?

Nailon is not in the NBA right now. I guess we will see him after the allstar break when teams start the 10 day contract signing again. Dalembert is actually surprising me. You know if BIll WALTON has something good to say about you..*lol*
I predict Rasheed will be a Knick next season and lead them to the Finals.
isiahthomas 02-19-2004, 05:24 PM Rasheed Wallace got traded today to Detroit for Bob Sura & Zeljko Rebraca. Pistons also traded Chucky Atkins & Lindsey Hunter to Boston for Mike James. How can the Pistons give up 2 point guards for one point guard? I didn't know Lindsey Hunter was on Detroit's roster LOL. Boston traded Chris Mills to Atlanta. I didn't know Chris Mills was still in the NBA either LOL. Utah traded Keon Clark & another guy to Phoenix for Tom Gugliotta. Orlando traded Gordon Giricek to Utah for Deshawn Stevenson. These were the only trades made today. LOL@Rasheed only playing one game for the Hawks which was last night hahahahahahaha.
Pavan 02-19-2004, 05:32 PM If the Pistons only would have drafted Carmelo instead of the seldom used Milicic, then they would have a killer frontline and starting line-up of: Rasheed, Carmelo at the forwards, Big Ben in the middle, and Hamilton and Billups at the guards. But they don't have Carmelo, so it should be: Rasheed, Big Ben, Prince, Hamilton, and Billups. Prince is better suited off the bench--they really should have drafted Carmelo, that might be the only reason I think they won't be able to beat the Nets. They have a decent bench; Williamson is probably one of the best 6th men in the league.
