View Full Version : Ellen Degeneres has GOT to be...
Nanny Fine 02-10-2004, 12:48 PM one of the funniest, if not the funniest, woman on the planet. I swear - I look so forward to her talk show every day, I tape her Ellen show at night...
Today she did a nature segment where she was getting out of her studio to 'travel'. She wanted to travel to Germany, India and Mexico. Mind you, she was still in Cali but she had on this ridiculous hiking gear, this dorky hat, and was carrying a guitar. So she is amazed to find a weinerschnitzel restaurant where she goes in and acts like she's in Germany. Same thing in India. Gets to Mexico (Mexican restaurant) and gets tanked with what she calls "spring break in the us" girls.
I have not laughed like that in ages. If you missed the episode I of course taped it (as I've taped every other episode of her talk show) I recommend seeing it. It was also her special 100th episode.
She's is classic. I think I've found a comedianne I like better than Fran Drescher.
LizaSfan 02-10-2004, 02:04 PM oh that was great wasn't it?!?! I love hershow she is so funny she always cracks me up!
Dean Winchester 02-11-2004, 01:47 AM Ellen is a hysterical comedienne, have been a fan since 94. Ironically, I always have looked up to her because I came out of the closet around the same time as she did in 1997.
I'm glad she finally found another vehicle that's great, her second sitcom from 2-3 years ago wasn't very good, and that is comign from somebody who watched "Ellen" every week.
webuster 02-11-2004, 03:19 PM I still wish I could see ellens show- I watch her monologues on the website whenever I can- it looks great. Maybe someday I'll trade to get tapes of the show- I don't care who's the shows guest, ellen is funny all the time! Ellen's never done a very successful film where she gets to use alot of her comic talent (except for Finding Nemo, but that's just voice work)- I hope she does another film sometime, hopefully where she's in charge creatively.
Has anyone seen Pauly Shore's new(ish) film- it's independant, and didn't get a theatrical release (it was called 'You'll Never Wiez in this town again') and it was eventually released- but only on video in Australia under the title Pauly Shore is dead. I want to see it, it's full of cameos (he's imprisoned in the celebrity wing of a jail in LA)- including ELLEN!
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 02-11-2004, 06:23 PM Yeah, she's hilarious. I love her show, one of my new favorites.
¤I Love Clay Aiken¤ 02-13-2004, 12:59 AM I love Ellen. And her 100th was a hoot! :rotflmao:
peter may 02-17-2004, 07:02 PM Ellen DeGeneres is absoultely terrific , I would not mind spending at least $100 on one of her tickets to her show.;)
I just ordered her new book online, has anyone read it yet?
jterry 02-19-2004, 09:09 PM Have you seen Ellen Degeneres Here and Now? It is hilarious!!! She does stand-up and even a rap song at the end. I LOVE IT!:D

I saw that at least 10 million times, it's great.
Procrastinate now, don't put it off. ;)
jterry 02-19-2004, 09:27 PM EXACTLY! I like the "pickle claw" too LOL:lol:
SPLAIN 02-24-2004, 04:49 PM Ellen is definitely the best new daytime talk show and she is a riot, so funny, on any subject. Her show should be syndicated to more markets to make her available to a bigger audience, she is currently the best talk show host around!
I agree, I LOVE Ellen! She seriously has a funny comeback line for ANYTHING, ANYBODY ever says to her, and that's a rare and hilarious talent. She's great.
Anyone seen Mr. Wrong? She's great in that...:) Esp. the part where she's drugged in that camper thing..."Hola Mama"
~*Hannah_Lee*~ 03-04-2004, 12:52 AM She is hysterical! I love her sense of humor.

So do I and so does my 9 year old daughter. We love to watch her. I hope her show goes on for years and years.
Rhiannon 03-07-2004, 09:57 PM I wish I had the network, because I've seen the show before at friends' houses and it's just soo funny!

go to www.ellendegeneres.com and it will tell you what channel it's playing on in your area. Here it's on 3 times a day.
Pentimento 03-16-2004, 01:13 PM I never miss Ellen's show. It's great to see a daytime talk show that is funny and entertaining without having to resort to personal drama or controversial "issues", and her guests always seem to be having such a good time. She cheers me up every day. The show was recently nominated for twelve Daytime Emmy awards, so I suspect she'll be around for a long time.
(For those who don't get to see her on one of your local network affiliates but have cable or satellite, every episode is rerun a week later at night on the Oxygen Network.)
db108108 03-18-2004, 12:39 AM That's the great thing about this about this show- everybody is having so much fun! The guests always have something to plug, but it's usually mentioned very little because they get so caught up in the show.
I loved Ellen and Allison Janney playing pingpong to decide who goes naked, her skateboarding with Pink was hilarious and I love the cook, she's hilarious too.
all in all, its one of the best ways to spend an hour on tv. I suspect that Ellen's now winning back many of the fans she last a few years back. The ratings just keep growing too!
FOL Fan 410 07-12-2004, 11:33 PM I was just wondering if any one knew the exact word to the ELLEN THEME...(TALK SHOW) and if there is a place to Download it on line.

THANKS I don't know of any MP3 or WAV downloads but, as for the lyrics, I think you've got them right except for line two. I believe it's "Life is too short for waiting" (with an awkward emphasis on the second syllable). It's catchy, isn't it? :)
If you haven't been to her web site (http://ellen.warnerbros.com), it's worth checking out. Among other interesting stuff, there are video clips from the show and also some excellent photos of her (in the section of the photo gallery called "Photos of Me"), most of which were taken by her partner, Alexandra Hedison. I'd have thought she would have the theme song on her site, but apparently not.
Superstar 07-30-2004, 06:54 AM Ellen is very funny!
I like her but she is a bit awkward with her guests my mom and i
i agree that she never seems to have anything to talk about with her guests but i think ellen is very funny and has a great sense of humor
ThirteenInchEscape 08-20-2004, 01:38 PM the funniest part is when she dances.
some of the segments are good too, like the Fat Cats, when they went around when Ellen was playing to see if people were watching it, and that girl who wrote in saying she watched the show with her pet duck. It's also funny how she always give away Tivo machines so people dont miss it
Chambers 08-21-2004, 02:56 PM Ellen has the BEST daytime talkshow.
Nanny Fine 09-06-2004, 12:15 PM Anyone else catch the season premiere today?

snl75 11-01-2004, 02:41 AM ive only seen the show a few times but i have to agree its the best talk show to hit daytime tv in a very long time and she really seems to care about what the audience wants to see and she seems to enjoy entertaing them
Moondance 11-01-2004, 03:39 PM I love Ellen's "Riff-Raff room" - who else has a room like that? She's awesome! Her dancing is...um, er...unique! Ellen even calls people during the show! Cracks me up!

Kitty is great! Ellen even had a hummer cam following Kitty until she got to the studio!
Anyone see Ellen get Houston a stuntman job in the movie "Dukes of Hazzard?"
CliffClavin 11-02-2004, 08:39 PM The Ellen Degeneres Show & Late Night with Conan O' Brien are the best talk shows ever.
