In TVGuide, it said that Linda Dano (Rea Cummings) was leaving One Life in late Feb. She said she's upset about not getting good story lines.

Are you serious? Linda Dano is a soap staple, she's been on that show for years, I can't believe that. I guess that's what happens to good talent when they get wasted, truly sad. That's got to be a dark day on that set.

Yes its true, Linda Dano a staple of soap operas since she the 1970's is leaving "One Life To Live" and Daytime, FOREVER. Dano's contract expired and instead of renewing it opted to leave the series. Most likely she'll leave the show as either a victim of the music-box killer or she'll simply leave town.

Dano originated the role of Greatel Cummings on "One Life To Live" in 197? and left the show after a year-and-a-half. She than spent 25 wonderful years as Felicia Gallant on "Another World" and it became her signature role, earning her a Daytime Emmy-Award in 1993. When "AW" was canceled in 1999 (after 35 years), Dano was snatched up by ABC to appear on not one, but all FIVE of their daytime soaps. She first reappeared on "OLTL" as the newly renamed Rea Cummings, who later was revealed to be Greatel Rea Cummings. She was in search of her long-lost daughter. She searched for this girl in Lainview and then went to Port Charles on both PC/GH in search of the girl where she ran into old friend/lover Alan Quatermaine and Tony Jones (friend). She found her girl Skye in Pine Valley where she had been raised as Skye Chandler. Later we learned that Skye was not a Chandler, but had been adpoted by Adam when her birth father, Alan Quatermaine had been forced by his dad Edward to sell the girl, who had been born out of wedlock to Greatel, a carnival workers daughter.

The drama doesn't end there, we later learned that Skye was not only not a Chandler, but that she is also NOT A QUATERMAINE!!!! The truth about Skye's true father has yet to be learned.

And after spending about a year on "AMC" Linda as Rea returned to "OLTL" which has been her homebase ever since.

Linda Dano is a truly amazing actress and will truly be missed.

One small correction: Linda Dano appeared on "Another World" for 16 & a half years as Felicia Gallant from January 1983 til the last episode in June 1999. She first appeared as Gretel Rae Cummings on OLTL from 1978-1980, and came back in July 1999.
