I'm sure most of you remember Judy Hensler, the girl in Beaver's class who always picks on him. Would you consider her a female Eddie Haskell?

There are some similarities, such as Judy, like Eddie, believes the 'adult world' thinks she is so polite and upstanding, when she can really be seen through quite easily. And she sometimes offers to be the 'monitor' and take the names of anyone who misbehaves on the bus or at a rehearsal or something; somehwhat like Eddie telling the track coach he'll be glad to call up the team the night before the meet to remind them to go to bed early  .

But Judy is really her own character though, and likely enough she compares to someone we knew in elementary [grammar] school... smart, but boastful and opinionated; noisy and lots of trouble herself, but loves to squeal on others. I really think Judy and Larry may have been the best pair of antagonists, rather than Judy and Beaver, but neither conflict could be played up too much without getting away from the basic lines of Cleavers-- Beaver and friends-- and Wally and his friends.

I had never thought of Judy as a female Eddie Haskell, but now that you mention it, she is like him in a lot of ways - she's a suck up to the adults (also a tattletale, making it appear that she's a little angel). She's also a mean, nasty little brat!

I have to agree with "junecleaver" though, in that unlike Eddie, I don't think she ever said or did anything nice! (Remember at least once or twice Eddie was caught doing something nice for Beaver).

Here is a link to photos of how actress Jerry Weil, better known as 'Judy', looks today.

Thanks for posting that link, Boomer - it was interesting to see her picture and read about her life. She must have had some life to fill up three books?! I don't know why, but I had pictured her as being heavier.

In the episode "Wally's Test", Eddie apologizes for cheating. Judy would never do this. I knew a girl who reminded me of Judy, always having her eye peeled for people disobeying rules.
