Does anyone know any history behind the immortal opening theme song? Why were there three versions and which is your favorite (mine is Seasons 2-6). Thanks!

I like the final season's theme song...It gives you that 80's rock feeling, very upbeat.

i loved the final season theme. if i am ultra sensitive i could tear alittle...when they show the earlier versions of each actress and what they looked presently then. It made me realize how life moves fast. i love that show. it makes you realize you grew up with these characters.

As for WHY they had 3 themes..

They changed the theme after season 1 cause the season ended plus not all that many people liked it .

In 1985, Embassy updated almost all their programs themes to reflect the 80's. (DS, FOL, SS, etc.)

Don't mind the 7-9 theme, but I loved the 2-6 theme the best!

i like seasons 6-9, though i don't mind 1-5

I like the season 2-6 themesong best, and 7-9 second best.

The very first episode of "The Facts of Life" has a longer theme song than the rest of the season one episodes. Also, the original episode has a different opening sequence than episodes 2-4 and 5-13. "The Facts of Life" in syndication cut and clipped and edited and deleted so many things!

I like season's 7-9, although 2-6 was my second favorite :)

My favorite theme is seasons 2-6(1980-85).

Without a doubt my favorite theme was seasons 7-9. I liked the upbeat tempo the song added, very 80's feel. I also liked how it showed clips from when the girls first started on the show till how they looked all grown up. It showed you how time passes and how long the show was able to stay on the air. It was the best theme.
