"hey, i'm not completely invulnerable, ya know."

dave's first hints of jealously towards maddie. his brother richard comes with a "found" wad of $100,000. the "owner" of the money mistakes dave for richard and beats him up in the bathroom stall.
after mr. navarrone finds the three of them in the mall, he chases them at gunpoint. what is left of his money, dave and maddie throw out to the people in the mall. navarrone is left speechless as his money is grabbed up by the patrons.

This episode was one of the only things I've seen Charles Rocket in after he was fired from Saturday Night Live. I think he played David's brother to a tee.

i didn't like the richard character with this episode. but after he was on a couple more, ...i guess the flaws were worked out some and he was just about as good a character as agnes was in the first season or so.

this rollercoaster of an episode is my favorite so far. it had overlapping dialoge, sexual tension, great music, funny jokes-dialoge and both david and maddie become very physically attracted to each other.

richard, david's brother doing the 'thin and rich' dance trying to sell products had me laughing. and when he was shaking hands with the dancers, i really laughed. so silly.
david's definition of an inquiry-case foreplay.
'for the love of money' song when richard opens the brief case and sees all the money.
'if you only knew' song when david was watching maddie and richard dancing. i think that this went both ways. david about maddie and maddie about david. afterall richard is just david with money. except that david is exciting and richard is not. and maddie wants exciting. i found this out when she broke the 'female land speed record' in getting bored with richard.
i also learned that maddie is very sensual.
maddie at dinner with richard and david argueing. again, real life made glamourous.
i found out maddie is important to david because he asked for money to help her out of her scary financial situation.

maddie:
if i knew being good didn't matter, i would have stayed up later, slept around more.

david:
your a dead man.
richard:
(checking his pulse) beg to differ with you bro.
and then the funny fight they had in maddie's living room- with ladylike maddie participating!

david:
you always this much fun this early in the morning.
maddie:
your going to die wondering.

bet not

This one is great fun isn't it? I think Richie does improve over time (becomes more loveable, but it's quite obvious in this ep that he and Dave don't keep on touch that much...

There are some sweet moments between them, they obviously love each other!

David's face when Rich and Maddie were dancing was a picture tho..I really really felt for him, he looked sooo hurt.

This is one my favorite early ones. I love Richie as a character and I liked all the episodes he was in. If anyone had any doubt (which we didn't) that David was falling for Maddie, his expression while watching her and Richie dance clinched it! As with so many episodes, the music was perfect. And the last scene was such a great tease. By now, they're both hooked!

I really liked this episode, also.

I think Charles Rockett is terrific, not just in Moonlighting but in everything. There's an ease about his acting that makes him emjoyable to watch.

This epi was fun, to see how much it hurted Dave watching Mads dancing with Rich really showed his feelings for her.
And the music...... Patti Labelle was THE song for that scene.
I loved the end when Maddie says she would have dropped Rich at the terminal to show Dave she didn't have the intention to start anything with his brother and reassure him that her feelings went THAT far. (ofcourse! her heart belongs to Davie)

It was great to see Charles Rocket star in an epi of Cybill later on and that they kissed passionately in that show!

I dunno Kis, there's a clip on the internet where he appears, it was on the Carsey-Werner site....
She was supposed to go out on a date with him but then Maryann got sick because of the booze, I never saw this epi in Holland, but they kissed passionately in that clip

I just watched this one for the 1st time this afternoon. But with someone in the room who hates the show  (yes these people exist) and wouldn't leave me in peace to enjoy it

I therefore missed David's expression while Maddie and Ritchie were dancing. Thankfully caught the final scene at least ;)

No I can't tape from this channel :( so I'll just need to wait until it comes round again to watch it properly (I hope it does). And I missed yesterday's episode (The Murder's in the Mail) altogether :( :( .
