View Full Version : How far can the Knicks go this year
How far can the Knicks go this year? I think they will make the playoffs, as high as 4th seed. I think they are the 4th best team in the East behind the Pacers, Nets, and Pistons. They are just as good if not better than any other team in the Eastern Conference.
I think if they are the 4th or 5th seed and avoid the Pacers, Nets, or Pistons, in the first round, they will make it to the second round. But they are capiable of upsetting one of those three teams.
If the Knicks are the 4th or 5th seed they can make it to the Eastern Conference Finals this year, if not they can make it only to the second round.
This offseason they will pick up a low post scorer and be serious contenders for the Eastern Conference title next season.
isiahthomas 02-07-2004, 02:22 PM The Knicks aren't gonna be the 4th seed this yr. New Orleans & Milwaukee are better than them. Even Toronto is better than them. The Knicks will probably be the 7th seed. ESPN's Steven Smith said that Dikembe Mutombo is a horrible offensive player hahahahahahahahahahahaha. He said that Dikembe is gonna lead the Knicks in scoring in a playoff game. He's got to be kidding LOL.
Brian Damage 02-07-2004, 02:25 PM The east stinks, so the Knicks have got as good a shot as anybody to make it to the Eastern Conference finals.
isiahthomas 02-07-2004, 02:30 PM Who cares if the east stinks. The Knicks ain't hardly making it to the eastern conference finals LOL.
The Knicks are as good as Milwaukee and New Orleans. I've seen New Orleans play on NBA league pass, they are very over rated.
And anyone that says Toronto is better the Knicks is either a bias canadian or smoking something.
vashti1999 02-08-2004, 03:24 AM I agree with tvje about the Knicks chances. I remember not being excited at all about the Knicks chances when we got Van Horn for Sprewell, but now that we got Starbury with Penny coming off the bench and Wilkens coaching the team. I can see them doing well. After being the Heat this afternoon the Knicks have won 9 of their last 12 and in second place in the division. They might catch Jersey before it's over, you never know.
isiahthomas 02-09-2004, 11:17 AM The Knicks will make the playoffs but they aren't gonna do anything. The Knicks beat the Clippers last night 110-104 & Stephon had 42 points. The Knicks are rollin.

I don't know of any team that wants to play the Knicks in the playoffs. If they are 8th seed do you really think the number 1 seeded team wants to face houston, marbury in the first round.?
and you can say what you want about mutombo..he is going to hold his own in the playoffs just like a veteran. During the season is another thing..the body can't produce like it used to but the body is used to the post season and giving that SECOND WIND.
And if the Knicks are the 8th seed, they will be playing the 1st seed in the East. There is a world of difference playing the 1st seed in the East and the 1st seed in the West.
isiahthomas 03-01-2004, 12:07 PM I just read on Yahoo.com in the NBA forum that the Knicks are unhappy right now with Tim Thomas & Nazr Mohammed. They say Tim is a terrible defender & he's not interested in playing defense LOL. I also read that Nazr hasn't been playing well lately. Isiah Thomas told Lenny Wilkens to cut back on Dikembe's minutes cause he's not producing enough. The Knicks should've kept Keith Van Horn & left Dikembe starting at center. Ever since this trade, the Knicks have been slippin. They have lost 7 of 8 games. They lost last Friday to the Clippers & they lost to Denver last night. Kurt Thomas is starting at center which isn't a good move in my opinion. Stephon only scored 2 points last night & that's horrible. If Stephon doesn't get the offense clicking, the Knicks don't have a chance at winning anything. If they make the playoffs, they'll get eliminated in the first round. Isiah has messed up their salary cap cause the Knicks are over the salary cap limit.
vashti1999 03-01-2004, 12:24 PM The Knicks have been a little lucky that they're still tied for sixth due to the fact that other teams have sucked too. The Raptors have lost 9 in a row, the Heat lost their last 3, and Philly and the Celtics haven't been winning much. Cleveland is starting to come up. Whoever makes it, it's gonna be three teams in the East playoffs below .500. All the teams I mentioned are within 8 losses of getting 42 losses on the season.
