View Full Version : Edith's Rape/Fear Strikes Back
Livin' La Vida Peekskill 06-24-2001, 03:52 PM For any of you who were watching the AITF marathon on TV Land last night about midnight, you will know that they played the highly controversial episode "Edith's Rape".
Do you know if NAN ever played that episode?
If they did, there is no reason why they shouldn't play "Fear Strikes Back" dealing with Natalie almost getting raped.
Has NAN to anybody's knowledge played "controversial episodes" from any sitcom?
N@N has never shown the 2 parter where Edith almost gets raped. Also, there are episodes of The Jeffersons that are routinely skipped as well. One involves a 2 parter where George gets mugged by a girl's gang. So cheer up in knowing that Nick also skips other show's eps. besides FOL.
Devastation26 06-25-2001, 02:31 AM And also cheer up. If TV land ever shows a FOL fandemonum, there's a chance some of the eps will get shown.

The Obsolete Man 06-25-2001, 02:34 PM Episodes like this are the reason that I've always said that if FoL was on TV Land, every episode would be aired.
I first remember seeing the AITF episode in question at 10 pm at night, just after AITF began on TV Land.
For some reason, N@N thinks they're the kiddie network...
Max Whittaker 06-25-2001, 09:56 PM Whats wrong with N@N! Even kids need to know about life! If they don't teach it with FOL/AITF and if the parents don't either who will? AHHH! Can you believe I didn't know what the phrase "sleep with" ment until I saw the Division!? I would have known it a lot sooner if N@N would have been nicer!
NOTE: No profanity intended. I was just saying.
folfan01 06-25-2001, 10:20 PM I'd doubt tv land's gonna do an fol fandemoniom marathon or however you spell it because I emailed them asking them to do one but they said they won't cause it's a nick at nite show. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/ubb/frown.gif
Devastation26 06-26-2001, 03:10 AM OK....
TV Land has shown fandemoniums for AITF (and I don't mean the tribute one either), The Jeffersons, I think I seen one for The Brady Bunch, I think I seen a I love Lucy one. In fact, just about every show on the current weeknight lineup has had a fandemonium except TC, DS, and FOL, and NONE of them 3 have been on N@N a whole year yet....

N@N may not have shown it, but I saw it on TVLand during a fandemonium weekend in January.
Bluestone 07-03-2001, 07:08 PM HOLD ON A SECOND!
N@N did-I repeat-DID-show that episode. I saw it on TV land, but I recall seeing the second half of it on N@N one night.
Because of this, I question why they can't show a similar, in fact, LESS controversial episode like "Fear Strikes Back".
Writrblock 07-06-2001, 02:09 AM I have seen this episode on NAN at least once (maybe twice). The first time I saw it was during one of the marathons. I think it was a week-long marathon and one whole night was dedicated to Edith acting out, i.e. demanding money from archie to buy him a gift, accidentally stealing pearls, screaming at the family during a menopausal fit. I think they included the attempted rape episode because beats off the rapist with a hot pan from the oven and later she slaps Gloria.
