Luckymama has been communicating with me by cell phone only for the last 2 days. They have been without electricity for that long, and she told me this morning it may be Monday before the power is back on! She asked that you all pray it will be sooner, and that she and her hubby and youngest daughter make it through this crisis with their sanity and health intact...

To all of you who are suffering through the challenges of this winter, our prayers are with you as well.

Having survived the great ice storm of 1966 & the ice storm of 1998 (folks are still debating as to which of the 2 was the worst) & hurricane Isabel I can well understand what she is going thru. Hope she gets her power on soon. Tell her we're wishing her well. Hang in there...

Please tell Luckymama that her and her family are in my prayers/ I know these kind of storms/ weather can be a pain both the household as well as there surroundings.. We have had seriously cold weather where we have had blackouts. Being out with no power at work or at home can be stressfull and boring. Hang in there Luckymama we're praying for you!

THANKS MUCHO everyone for the prayers....

Our power went out at 1:30 pm yesterday and came on at 5:30 pm today. Our only source of heat is our electric heat pump. The ice storm of Thursday night/Friday morning took out a lot of power lines in the area. A neighbor had loaned us a keroscene heater this afternoon, but this was after sleeping in a house whose temps had dropped to 55 degrees. Needless to say, I was in bed under my covers with two layers of clothes on most of the day today, reading.... cause there was little else to do. I am glad to be back in action in a nice warm house.

Thanks Mariposa, for getting the prayer chain started.... I know that it was because of the prayers that we got back on line tonight and not tomorrow night like the electric company was telling everyone!

WoW I just got in here.

I'm glad you got your power back Lucky!

How about your refrigerated items? I hate when the power goes out.

tee hee, Joy, a picnic with Freddie sounds good to me! :D

I think everything survived ok, Pitooey. My hubby had moved some of the frozen meat out to a cooler in the garage. The outside temps have been around freezing here.

I was worried more about my pipes, but my dad assured me that it would take at least three days of below freezing temps to cause any damage to our house. I'm just glad we didn't put that to the test.

I do appreciate all of your concern! You guys are the best! :D
