View Full Version : Gomer Pyle's appendicitis? 9nine9 02-06-2004, 03:00 PM I've been told that Gomer got appendicitis in one of the episodes. Is this true and if so, does anybody know which episode? StarshipTrooper 02-07-2004, 07:39 PM I don't remember Gomer ever having appendicitis, but there was an episode where Sgt. Carter had it. Gomer mistakenly thought Carter was dying, when in fact, it was Miss Bunny's cat, Boots, who was sick. The cat recovered, but Carter, playing w/Gomer's emotions, pretended that he was dying, even summoning Gomer to his quarters, as he wanted to see Pyle "one last time". This was a really hilarious scene! Carter eventually pretened to have passed out, and Pyle ran out to get help. Corporal Slater came in and told Carter he shouldn't have played such a trick on Pyle. It was then that Sgt. Carter started getting pains in his side. Pyle came back in with a doctor, and it was there that Carter was diagnosed with appendicitis. 9nine9 02-08-2004, 09:12 PM Hey thanks, That sounds like the right episode. The person who told me must have just gotten the characters confused. Do you know what the tilte of that episode was and what date it originally aired by any chance? StarshipTrooper 02-09-2004, 10:35 PM The title of the episode was, "Gomer Tends A Sick Kat". It was Episode 142 and it originally aired February 28, 1969. 9nine9 02-09-2004, 10:52 PM Thanks a bunch. I appreciate it. EmpressDR 12-24-2006, 03:29 PM :dog: I recall an episode where Carter thought Gomer was dying, but it was really a sick dog or sick horse. And Carter asked the doctor how to make Gomer comfortable, and he told Carter to "brush him." :stressed: So there's a scene where Carter is doing various things to comfort the "dying" Gomer --and as a filip, takes a brush to Gomer's hair. :dizzy:  :brent treky 01-22-2007, 04:09 AM yea; I remember that one! That was a funny one. Carter was calling the doctor cause he thought Gomer was sick, and the doctor got another phone call at the same time about a sick horse, and when Carter called the doctor thought that's what he was asking about, so he told Carter what to do about the horse, not knowing that he was calling about Gomer!  |
