I'm glad you agree with me. I tried watching The New Class but didn't like it. I liked The College Years though.

Yeah, as I grow older I find myself enjoying the College Years more. They were really great episodes, too bad NBC canceled it too early. :(

Yeah...I know.

Actually, I don't know if it's true or not, but they decided to take it off the air themselves. Meaning they weren't cancelled - they just knew there ratings weren't that great. It's a shame too because shows like Full House had lousy ratings their first couple of years and ended up being a huge success. :(

Yeah, but NBC expected better from "The College Years" because "Saved By The Bell" was one of their biggest hits of the time, it was big surprise to see "TCY" only get 8 million viewers (Personally I don't think that number is too shabby.)

Yes, 8 million is a lot. It's too bad, I would've loved to see more happen before the proposal and before the wedding.

Kelly had just told Zack she loved him for the first time since high school, and the next episode he proposed to her? I would've loved to see a lot of dating in there. And a lot more planning before the wedding.

I would liked to see more of that too. After the finale I kept on asking myself, why are they making it seem like the end of their friendship?... I.E., when Slater made a comment about being the "end of an era."

Yeah, I know. It's kind of sad to think about. Especially for us viewers b/c that was the last time we saw them all together and knowing some of them aren't up for a reunion is depressing too. :( I just wished they cared more, but I also understand as well I suppose. They're famous and they think if they go back to those roles, they're careers will turn sour. In my opinion, I don't think it'd be bad for them at all. Good actually. A lot of people haven't seen most of them in years. If you don't watch dramas or talk shows you don't usually see them or hear of them. I only know about them through the internet. I don't usually watch their new shows. I just think with enough publicity, the reunion would be a major hit for the ratings and them. And don't you think they're SbtB characters would have matured quite a bit? That has to be a major factor for them. They probably don't want those old immature characters back on their recent resume. But you know, that's just my opinion. ;) I for one, am all for a reunion! :D

haha Sorry, I had to get that out.

Really? You saw it that way? Well, I took it as "No more of the single life for us guys"...."No more partying and picking up girls together"....

You know....watching the College Years/Wedding now a days.....I really think that they matured so much during this time. They evolved tremendously...except for Screech. Actually, during the College Years he toned down, however during the Wedding I wanted to kill him! LOL (Opening his mouth about Zack's money) If he were my friend, I would have killed him!!! LOL OK getting off the subject...

If they had a reunion now, I would definately think they would take their characters to the next level. Sure, Screech can mess up, but he doesn't have to act as silly as he used to. Know what I mean? It's late..I hope I make sense.

Now that you mention it...yeah, I guess it is more that way. lol

...and Zack will have to slip up a few times. I mean, that's what the show is all about. Every episode he always got himself into trouble and that's what he tried fixing for the whole episode, lol ...but of course, it'd have to be something an adult would do - not a teenager. And yes, Screech will have to be a little bit more mature as well. If I remember correctly he was quite mature in the New Class, right?? Oh and I too wanted to kill Screech as well for opening his mouth, lol

The rebooted original Class version (which I should focus on looking forward on that instead, TBH) with these important requirements, this time:

* No connection between a single geek character in this class and the entire Bayside-Valley high school areas.
* No Tori Scott character included for substituting any of these characters in this entire rebooted original class sitcom cast lineup.
* No single discrimination incident occurring in the entire rebooted original class version crewmember group.

I never got into the new class, so my vote is for the first one.

God bless you always!!!

I think that the The College Years may have suffered from being too down to earth (well at least compared to the original SBTB), to the point where it just became closer to your typical young adult sitcom rather than a silly school farce. Ironically, this was just a year away from Friends, which was pretty much the ultimate '90s young adult sitcom. In effect, SBTB: The College Years was too adult to appeal to the kids and not adult enough for the older, prime time audience. In fairness, that was going to be a tough balancing act anyway.

One thing that I've noticed about the original Saved by the Bell that perhaps The New Class seriously lacked, is that each of the main characters had their own unique and distinctive personalities.

Zack was the high school entrepreneur/schemer/con-artist/hustler, Slater was the macho jock, Screech was the weird, scrawny geek, Kelly was the nice, pretty and popular cheerleader, Jessie was the intellectual, over-achieving feminist, and Lisa was the gossipy fashionista. Even Tori (yes, she counts as a main character) was distinctive as the tomboyish, biker chick.

It's really hard to figure out what the characters on The New Class represented because the show kept rotating, dropping, and adding new characters virtually every other season. Plus, I don't know if any of the actors from The New Class were were as admittedly charismatic or appealing as somebody like Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen to serve as good anchors for the show.
